I don't agree. If he performs he gets a game.Crouch is 30 in April so 31 in 2026. Should only be playing SANFL at 31. The younger mids should have taken over.

Yep sure if hes performing. But hopefully our younger mids have pushed him out and outperforming him.I don't agree. If he performs he gets a game.
I just don't see that happening within 12 months.Yep sure if hes performing. But hopefully our younger mids have pushed him out and outperforming him.
Taylor I think might get midfield opportunities before Dowling and Edwards, possibly even Curtin.I just don't see that happening within 12 months.
Soligo - already in the midfield
Peatling - great prospect, probably the only one who could. Remains to be seen if he's A grade potential though, or just second string.
Curtin - probably 2 years away from being anywhere near full time mid
Draper - probably a 3 year project
Edwards - long way to go
Dowling - more wing, HF
Ideally when Crouch is 32 we will have the below players using midfield minutes who all have versatility to play elsewhereI just don't see that happening within 12 months.

Are you certain all those you've named will still be on our list at that time?Ideally when Crouch is 32 we will have the below players using midfield minutes who all have versatility to play elsewhere
Rankine - 27
Berry - 25
Curtin - 22
Rachele - 24
Pedlar - 25
Edwards - 22
Dawson - 30
Soligo - 24
Max - 23
Taylor - 24
Dowling - 23
Not if hes still struggling to run a 2kTaylor I think might get midfield opportunities before Dowling and Edwards, possibly even Curtin.

Not certain which is why i said ideally these guys can all step upAre you certain all those you've named will still be on our list at that time?
Actually he was down the back of the 2K this year as well. That's ancient history now, no reports of that nature emanating from the club this year.
8 clearances in AFL round 18 this year would suggest he has legitimate claims.
The addition of the older trades & FA's .....has pushed our ave age upIdeally when Crouch is 32 we will have the below players using midfield minutes who all have versatility to play elsewhere

In 2025 we will have the 8th oldest team list - right in the middle of the pack. As you correctly note, age cannot be an excuse next year. The addition of the older trades & FA's .....has pushed our ave age up
List Age (youth) cannot be considered a factor in 2025

I'm not yet absolutely convinced Dowling has a decent AFL career ahead. Not certain which is why i said ideally these guys can all step up
Only Berry and Pedlar if he desnt get over injuries.
The rest should still be there
He definitely has some valuable traits, the accumulation and ability to go forward is already there. Kicking needs workI'm not yet absolutely convinced Dowling has a decent AFL career ahead.
I suspect 1 still plays, 1 might be sub.He definitely has some valuable traits, the accumulation and ability to go forward is already there. Kicking needs work
Guys like him and Taylor are in the ‘promising, but wait and see’ category. Getting ANB and Peatling doesn’t really help their chances of R1 selection
Yeah especially if there’s a couple of injuries, which should probably be expectedI suspect 1 still plays, 1 might be sub.
At this VERY early stage you'd have to say Dowling is leading that race.
There are/were a lot of footballers running around Ammos and country leagues who figured if Greg Williams could be where the ball was without running too hard why should they?I'm unsure why more players that have skills but not the fitness don't do this.
Matt still lead our averages for centre clearances, hard ball gets and loose ball gets in 2024 .Yep sure if hes performing. But hopefully our younger mids have pushed him out and outperforming him.
I reckon Crouch has great value with more attacking mids around him. And no Laird.Yep sure if hes performing. But hopefully our younger mids have pushed him out and outperforming him.
Agree as Laird steps away the only competition he has for his inside mid role is Berry - and he's much less fumble prone than Berry. If Crouch keeps playing the way he did this year I don't have a problem with him in the middle.I reckon Crouch has great value with more attacking mids around him. And no Laird.
Great hands in close. Very good footy IQ.
For some players its genetics. Doesn't matter how much training they do.Because if you can't get AFL fit in an AFL program then you never will.
I get that, but the ones we want to replace him long term (Curtin, Taylor, Draper) need to get 40 games into them before they're ready to do it full time.We need to be asking the question of "does playing this guy take us closer to our next premiership?"
