Agree to disagreePetty has the potential to be a gun, definitely wouldn't be calling him a gun just yet.

Agree to disagree
All I'm saying is, I doubt it's clear cut. I think the Demons fans wouldn't like to be losing both Oliver and Petty. So the third tall role or on the back of his handful of games in the forward line?
Melbourne want picks to try and get Harley Reid. I don't think they want a key forward from this Oliver rumour. Although no doubt they would like another key forward. The message that Arr0w is trying to convey is that if Melbourne have identified Oliver as a pawn on their chessboard, he is only going somewhere if they can get a key forward in return.
Put it this way. Melbourne was less than a goal away from a preliminary final. Their glaring deficiency was a key forward. They are not getting rid of a gun player they have on a contract until 2030 unless it brings them closer to a flag.
So the question for us is pretty relevant. If we want Oliver, would we be prepared to trade Harry? It’s a no from me.
Any trade with McKay in it makes us significantly worse
Wouldn't provide us anything close to what McKay does as a partner to Curnow. His up the ground work is ridiculously important to us and Petty can't fill that holeNot so sure. Petty is a gun
I like Pittonet more than most but it isn't a good idea to trade Harry just so we can fit Pitt in the team.Trading Harry makes playing Pitt and TDK together more palatable. TDK plays as the forward who can ruck that I think he is. He could do for us what Daniher does for the Lions. I don't see the club trading Harry unless he wants out however.

Harley Reid is what they are chasing and want draft picks to tempt the Eagles for pick 1

There we goit isn't a good idea to trade Harry
I think TDK showed enough in the back half of the year that he could take the number 1 ruck mantle and Pitt could become very solid depth. However, I still have no issue playing TDK/Pitt/McKay in the same team - my main issue arises when you throw JSOS into that mix because then I think it becomes too tall. Only 3 of those 4 can play in the same team most weeks imoI like Pitt too, and still think he's number 1 ruck. In my perfect team, I struggle to fit TDK in, along with Charlie, Harry and Pitt. TDK IMO, doesn't fit as a third tall forward. But you have to play himin the 22 as Harry doesnt chop out in the ruck.
Dunno if that would seal the deal for WC. They want Curtain. If Dees got Reid and Roos had 2&3 then North would take curtain at 2 or 3 as they need a young KPD. Roos probably would do it just out of spite for missing out on Reid.Reckon they'll need the Suns pick 4 to go with their pick 5 to get it. Picks 4 and 5 for 1. Reckon West Coast jump on that.
It's tricky really. How much is 1 worth and is it/should it be worth a crazy amount.Reckon they'll need the Suns pick 4 to go with their pick 5 to get it. Picks 4 and 5 for 1. Reckon West Coast jump on that.
Not saying we won't make any moves. With all due respect, I think this attitude could potentially see us stall.
I really hope we don’t become complacent and rest on our laurels.
The simple fact is that our list fell short this year and we need new talent to help us take the next step.
I see only two young players who are already on the list, who didn’t regularly play this year, who could come in to the side next year and potentially make an impact:
Binns
Carroll
The remainder still have a lot of development ahead of them OR, in my view, are unlikely to take a more senior player’s spot next year.
We must stay hungry & aggressive with our list management - even just two new additions (1 via the draft and another via trade/FA/DFA), in addition to the other two players aforementioned, could help us take the next step.
Equally loving it that I have paid no real attention to the draft thread until late September.First trade period in over a decade where I hardly care at all.
Our list is in great shape and we don't need someone to come in to put us in the window.
Were already in the window. Absolutely love it.
Is he though? Not so sure. Petty is a gun
I read the other day about 55% of trades get completed on the last day.Odds this ends in days of feverish F5ing...anyone?
West Coast don't trade pick 1 unless they are extremely confident they can still get Curtin methinks...Reckon they'll need the Suns pick 4 to go with their pick 5 to get it. Picks 4 and 5 for 1. Reckon West Coast jump on that.
you need the time to work out what the deals will be. The fact majority are done on the last day doesn’t mean the earlier time is not utilised.I read the other day about 55% of trades get completed on the last day.
Makes the rest of trade month a complete waste of time.
Still, have ordered three new F5 keys just in case...
I don't give a crap how long list managers need to negotiate...you need the time to work out what the deals will be. The fact majority are done on the last day doesn’t mean the earlier time is not utilised.
I’ll hold off my order of F5’s until I know how many (and who) trades Carlton will be a. Part of
