As much as I would like Reid, I doubt West Coast trade pick 1. Take the best available player with pick 3, then trade future first and future second to the Bulldogs for Smith.

To be fair, Oliver is not any old player. He would be easily the best player on their list. On most lists, in fact.

I don't know how bad the baggage is. But a player of his proven quality (26 years old, 2x Coaches Association winner) do not come up often.

but that's not the question here at all. The question is

Reid vs Smith + Watson/Duursma

(hypothetically of course, assuming both of these are possibilities)

If it's Smith + Duursma or Watson then we have to go with that.

Our primary goal is to get pick 1, but we're also courting Smith (who we have been since last week) so if a deal with WC can't be done (I'm not privy to the deal details) then we'll go fully on Smith.

Reading these forums had me believing the Hawks were never particularly keen on Reid

I didn’t think we had any chance given the AFL are basically trying to hand him to North.

North still have to royally **** up for us to get him. They have 2, 3, F1, 14, 3 end of first round picks, and their F2 to work with. If they **** this up even with the AFL’s help it will be hilarious.

If we can get a deal done, he’s worth it.

Pick 3, Brockman, DGB and Future 2nd to Eagles for 1 and Future 2nd?

Eagles might accept that? They likely won’t, also.

Not sure they’d take that either.
