As much as I would like Reid, I doubt West Coast trade pick 1. Take the best available player with pick 3, then trade future first and future second to the Bulldogs for Smith.
Getting Smith and Chol in whilst retaining Pick 3 would be a very good result 👍

I rate Smith, he's a quality footballer and I think would thrive under Sam.

And Chol would be big for us structurally.

Someone I'd be interested in throwing a very late pick at (with the prospect of a better chance to play) would be Brodie McLaughlin.

A key forward picked up as an SSP by the Gold Coast who have an inflated and reducing list and have a swathe of key forwards, with 2 more highly touted key forwards about to come in. Would basically be for free and has looked fantastic in the VFL this year.

Averaged 16 disposals, 7 marks and 8 score involvements this season. Kicked 51 goals in 18 games! Is 25 years old and not hulking key forward size unfortunately (more the Gunston size) but has good speed, leap and smarts. May not be any better a prospect than Ryan or Greene but should be gettable for a nothing (i.e. otherwise unused) pick and could be the goods.

The only other decent key forward VFL option is probably Hudson Garoni. 23 years old, proper KPF size, unlucky not to be drafted in his year and just kicked 40 goals from 17 games for Werribee. Averaged 13 touches, 7 score involvements and 4.6 shots at goal.

Not many other genuine key forward prospects in the VFL with Maric, Ryan, etc having already been picked up. No one in the SANFL worth our time either.
Hes been delisted now so would be a fairpickup for nothing.

This is true. Sam has even been quoted saying this. It’s big and could genuinely be the greatest move Hawks will ever pull off…

ONLY…

If we manage to bring in either GCS/GWS first pick for a salary dump. Then we can select another young gun to partner up with Reid. Potentially Nick Watson. They’re best mates.

Is Sam about to pull off the greatest trade of all time?

Nathan broad to the hawks?

God wake up to a lot of nonsense today! They have to fill days of trade radio with nothing happening so they make up any old nonsensical crap. We have 0 chance for pick 1. None. Brockman isn’t worth anything sorry but that’s the truth. Doesn’t mean he’s not good just no significant commercial value. So it’s pick 3 and f1. North can blow that out of the water and still retain a better draft hand than us even excluding pick 1. Dogs and dees positioning for a crack with much better hands. We should hope north get 1 and position for suns r1 it’s our only realistic play as our f1 will be viewed as top end especially compared to dogs and dees.
Hawks give 3
Gws give 6 and 15
Hawks give 15,30,f1
Suns give 4,f2
Hawks get 44 Kozi 53 brockman

2023: 4,6,44,49,53
2024: f2, suns f2

LOL where did you get they're best mates? Harley is from Tongala and Watson is from Melbourne.
