I think it's the professionalism of the club.

Hardly - the club is out there taking swings and has landed someone the last two years. It's seen as a strong club on the rise.

But you still need to find someone decent who wants to leave their club and wants to move to SA. It's possible but it's not easy.

There is a rumour we have enquired about Phillipou and you are all either still whining about missing Oliver or about Lemmens potentially touring our club today. If we went that hard after Oliver, I’m certain we are going hard after Phillipou and getting him seems a lot more realistic given he only has a year to run.

not sure he’s actually worth chasing from what I saw of him this year.. especially given the saints would want the world for him..

Better off simply giving Cook more opportunities next year in that half forward role and throwing him into the centre every now and then.. cause thats all Phillipou would be getting if we traded him in..

All you can do with players like that is have a genuine crack at luring them over, which we did with Martin, Grundy and now Oliver. All are very small chances of actually coming, but we are doing everything we can.

Day is the one I’m really surprised didn’t want to come home given where the Hawks are at. Hopefully if we push into a genuine contender over the next couple of years and the Hawks remain in the bottom few we can try lure him out with 1-2 years left on the contract.
