Also Carlton's trade means we could have finished in the finals, then traded our 2024 and 2025 picks along with a player the calibre of Murphy to get a pick better than we got for finishing bottom 4
Its an odd year for that as most years there is a very defined top end and its almost impossible to bust into it, but this year is the 1 year where that logic has flipped on its head as its seen to be a deep draft

Always the case when Non-Vic/Vic trades happen. Houston should go for pick 13 and steak knives but Rioli is worth pick 6 and 23.

And Bailey Smith is only worth pick 17 to Geelong but Baker is somehow worth more to West Coast

good point mate. I cant remember the last time, if ever, a player, let alone an A Grade and high profile trade target, hasnt nominated a club. Its been regularly said in the media he wants Pies or Blues (seemingly unlikely now) and I just hope he doesnt buckle and agree to go to Kangas with Power pushing him towards that outcome if he wants to get back to Vic. No way is he worth a pick 1-4 in next years draft (and I understand Power dont want next year anyway but could no doubt on trade that for perhaps a top 10 pick this year AND a first rounder next year if Kangas are so stupid to offer that up)
As Kane McG mentioned, players often won't nominate a club unless they're sure that a deal can be completed

I still think the basis of the 3 way trade is there, they just need to tweak things

And I still think part of the problem is the perception of what GC are paying for Rioli vs what Collingwood appear to be paying for Houston

Wonder if Reidy now gets into Suns ear about us taking Luko for F1 - with their 2nd coming back

Just to throw a spanner in the works and really piss Power off

Big Footy mentioned as why Port Board poo pooed the deal haha

Trade Radio just said it after Board members probably read the Big Footy feedback and scrapped the deal

Classic
Chief must be paying the big bucks to get a plug in between tires and whatever else they are flogging off between 2 minute segments.

Love it to happen but PA's deal to PA looks overs dollar wise on current form. Hardwicke would be pushing a payer out if his was one of his stars.

Wce officially getting rogered
just cant believe their stupidity

Like Kane said, get aggressive and take Baker in the PSD with hefty price tag for a couple of years (say 150k overs) to scare off Kangas or Tigers redrafting. Then pick 3 could probably get at least 2 other first rounders including a top 10 pick to get the WA lad

Owies is unwanted FFS

Any trades that involve trading a first round pick would need board approval.

I think the trade was initially endorsed and the board has reacted to the supporters reaction

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
I reckon the issue might be the combined salary of Luko and Ratkins. Board also need to approve such a high salary value trade.

Would be over $1m a year for the two.

Atkins over $400k
