Fisher trade if we can’t get something a little better from Nth particularly a better future pick, then

Nth : trade us
#42 = 395pts
#54 = 220pts
………= 615pts

Carl : trade them
#67 = 69ts

..……= 546pts
#34 = 542pts (Values Fisher)

Gives us more draft points options to work with, moving up the draft board or for a particular trade target…
Dow trade pick still to come?

Blues 2023
#16 #42 #54 #75

Blues 2024 futures
#16 #34 #52 #70

Upgrading 16 to 14 would be slightly less value than 67 to 54 but probably more useful to us

Quote from above article

CLUBS are tossing up ways they can move higher up the draft order over the next month, with Geelong's pick No.7 the next selection to be viewed by rival teams as a potential landing spot.

A handful of teams including Carlton and West Coast are among those with interest in getting higher up the draft order

Is there a press red to mute conversation about Dow? Would have to be the most talked about player on our list here.

Stocker was similar…
There is one for posters who moan about such discussion………
BTW - Is there a BigFooty.com policy on the amount of times you can discuss things that we all need to know about???

The better the list gets, the harder it's going to be to keep our depth... The downfall of being good...
This is part of where Lloyd and Austin are going to have to earn their money...

But's, its still a shame our 2024 list/depth is technically going to be worse than 2023...
We're losing AFL quality depth, in Dow (73) and Fisher (107) and because of our limited resources and list spots replacing them with an unproven Hollands (14) and some mid-late draft prospects...

Our list is in a pretty good spot though...
Elijah was touted as a potential #1 pick before he popped his knee the year before his draft year.

He's been in a totally shite system in a very mediocre team.

He only debuted at senior level in late 22 (round 19).

He was over it. Don't blame him.

We'll get him, effectively, as a straight swap for Fish.

That's a steal frankly.

This lad is a gem.

According to the AFL website, North have offered pick 42 for Fisher.
Can we do better than that do you think?

On CPH2135 using BigFooty.com mobile app

I think we should be able to, North will be moving picks all week, so their draft hand will change, i think its reasonable to put a minimum at pick 30 or very close to it.

Yeah, unlike Dow Fisher is contracted and North will have picks flying all over the place. No reason for them not to play ball. If 42 is their first offer it will probably end up something between that and what we would ideally like which would be an early 2nd. Maybe a pick in the late 20s / early 30s, an additional 3rd rounder, or a swap of 2nd and 3rd round picks next year.

If Austin thinks Elijah is the man, then I back him in...

However, he's more Carlton Bigfooty hype, than AFL proven (yet)...
If his brother didn't play for us and if he didn't choose us, 90% of the Carlton board would go Elijah Hollands who?
Fisher is a much more accomplished proven AFL player...

As you said Elijah has been starved of opportunity... He also plays that HF/Mid position, that we could use...
Is he an "steal' (hope so) but only time will tell...

‘21 a write-off post ACL.
‘22 he was killing it in the VFL before his eventual debut and acquitted himself well at AFL level at the end of season.
‘23 not the greatest year but capped off with a v.good performance in the VFL GF. Perhaps moves were already underway & GCFC have been happy to move on with their list management & S/C.

It's going to be interesting, outside of pick 16 and Hollands...

With our later draft capital are we going to chase kids
or cherry pick pieces from the state leagues to add to our our depth and VFL team...

Cook said probably 1 recruit (Hollands)
And then the draft.
If we can work to bring in O’Sullivan and Collard, it’ll be a good haul …

Yeah, but I'm not sure that's realistic?
I'm assuming you're thinking Cats' pick for O'Sullivan? Which would be our #16 + F1.
We're likely giving a future pick for Hollands, so even if we upgrade with Fisher, we won't be able to trade that into this round.
Can't see Dow + our 4ths being enough to get above 40 (at the very least) for Collard.

Yeah, thought about that but kinda recall seeing that there might be a change to the rules coming.
Something about not having to hold a full hand of picks if you want to trade away your future first ?
Anyway, it’s all up to Austin and his team but just thought those 3 players would be nice additions if possible with the Campo boys to follow the next year …

Interesting that the Swans have no qualms in recruiting a few 30 yo players.

I think we should consider adding a few older types - if they meet a need.

Guys who are good players, best 22, at their current club but mightn't be offered more than rolling 1 yr deals....

Wondering whether we could use the Fisher trade to slide our first round pick up from 16 to 14 and then the Dow trade to go from 14 to 12 obviously with reasonable steak knives coming our way in both trades.

Pick 12 gets us right back in the market for someone like Wilson or Leake whereas I’m not that excited about the options at pick 16.

I think the Seans are pretty stacked with quite young talent though.
