Ginni is rubbish, too much of his play centres around drawing free kicks. And outside of that he doesnt have a whole heap going for him. He's not going to last long in the league.

To be fair he’s been good this year just that Hill was even better. Not saying we go for him but he’ll be a good forward at a club wherever that is. He’s gotten better at ducking

As in, can now draw more free kicks, or does it less?

He makes things happen, I'll give him that, but I just get flash in the pan vibes about him.

Does it much less used to annoy me to no end but he’s actually a nice talent. Yeah he’s ducked on occasions let’s not pretend we don’t have players that do it too.

Most small forwards are flash players what Ginnavan has to work on is his defensive game though it’s not at the top level yet

Gulden lifts the arm to draw free kicks. Not as blatent but it's definitely part of his game. Ginni kicked 40 goals last year as a small forward in a good team. That is not rubbish.

Don't let his antics blind you to him being a guy that makes the most of limited opportunity.

Could easily fall away but the kid knows how to snag a goal. Wouldn't that be terrible to have in our team.

I'm not a fan of the guy but I'd love us to go after Ginnivan

Doubt he leaves Melbourne though

cannot believe you and other folks would entertain trading that guy in. HE IS INCAPABLE OF WINNING CONTESTED POSSESSION.

An appalling footballer.

He's 20 years old and has 58 goals from 42 games. He is far from the complete package but what 20 year old is?

Funny how if our kids have form slumps it's because they're developing, but when opposition kids have form slumps is because they're no good.

And I'll reiterate that I have no warm feelings for Ginnivan.

a significant % of the goals were from frees or Jo The Goose scores.

His output diminished once the Umps decided they would not be made fools of..

He is not a pressure forward.

I expect there are behavioural issues .

There’s a bit of the Akermanis about the guy. Still wouldn’t take him.

Ginnivan is a me me me bogan, with limited skills outside of winning free kicks. Pass.

He can't even do that these days as he is the definition of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". He has ducked far too many times that even when he is genuinely hit on the head an umpire likely won't give him a free kick as they think he ducked.

To be honest I am not sure I agree. Here is a best 22 Bonz created a few days ago

B: D.Rampe, L.Melican, H.Cunningham
HB: N.Blakey, T.McCartin, J.Lloyd
C: B.Campbell, J.Rowbottom, E.Gulden
HF: W.Hayward, L.McDonald, T.Papley
F: L.Parker, H.McLean, I.Heeney
FOLL: B.Grundy, T.Adams, C.Mills
I/C: O.Florent, J.McInerney, J.Amartey, Ch.Warner
S: R.Fox

and the depth for the midfield is

A.Sheldrick
J.Jordan
R.Roberts
Co.Warner
C.Cleary

that is pretty weak depth.

I actually think we should hang onto Clarke simply because or midfield depth is almost non-existent. 2 or 3 injuries (especially with Mills likely to miss half the season) and we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

sheldrick will be best 22 when fit
i suspect hamling will be best 22
i am trying not to seem disrespectful to a club great, and i don't want to start a fire, but i'm wondering how much longer rampe commands a place, and the physical wear and tear over his career suggests parker could go the way of ryan o'keefe (ie, a rapid decline) ...
i would (probably) agree both are best 22 now, and going into the new season ... but it's clear from general postings across this board thorugh the season just gone that others have similar question marks over those two champion sydney players
cunningham is another the club would be looking at in the near term ... is jordon a possibility to be groomed as a small defender?
and lloyd ... who will take his role as that defensive organiser ("captain"?) ... is florent that kind of player?

yeah, that is true, akermanis was a genuine star capable of freakish moments, ginnivan can only dream of being that good, for that long
You are not kidding. He would tell the media during the week what he was going to do on the weekend then he would go out there and do it. A true freak on the ground.

Anyone who kicks 40 goals in a season of AFL footy has some talent and it's ludicrous to suggest otherwise.

To do it at 19 suggests a bright future.
