We take pick 50 for Sweet and we’ll be extremely well placed to match Croft and maybe have some points left over to do a draft night deal with GC.
I've heard this mentioned but don't really understand how this could work. Is the hope that Croft is bid on late, we then package up our remaining picks to move to a single better pick with someone that still has a father-son or Northern academy player to match?

Would have loved to get involved in this. Kid can run all day
This trade screams 'there's something we don't know' to me. A young team looking to improve trades a 21yo, third-year player who is contracted for peanuts, without an official trade request?

Buyer beware.

Wants to play with his brother... they have also always wanted him ..

They have also played him out of position, will be a solid get

Don't they see him as more of an inside / outside mid and they just don't have the spots for him to play there?

Basically said the emergence of Flanders and one of their other guys (can't remember who) killed his seniors spot...

I don't think any of this is sufficient rationale to trade a contracted top ten pick for scraps.

If you read the Hollands thread, some pretty mixed views of him by some GC posters. From lazy, to thinks too highly of himself. Yes he was played "out of position" But unlike Coffield who had injury concerns and didn't play for two years, vs a high draft pick who played senior games, let go for nothing. As you said, probably more to it than people know.
