Beams drafted in 2008 and GC didn’t enter comp until 2011, so don’t see how GC could possibly have claimed him.

You should do a little bit of research then. A 5 second google search will give you the answer you seek.

We were considering Murphy as a first round pick whereas Begg is a rookie. You'd assume that Murphy was considered considerably more talented and likely than Begg to make it as an AFL player.
There's also the point that players develop at different rates, and Begg was obviously extremely raw in his draft year, so was only considered worth a punt as a rookie in the MSD.
If he works out, he would be another player to succeed at little cost.
Nick Maxwell was a rookie - I'm not saying he'll turn out like Nick, but at least he's got a chance.

Adelaide are delisting James Borlase to try and rookie list him - Is it worth trying to make an approach and see if we can sway him to come across?

He's a solid-bodied key defender with a few AFL games under his belt, and only just turned 21.

Could we pull a Hugh Greenwood-esque heist?

Adelaide will pick before us in the Rookie Draft.

LDU would be about top of my list as a trade target.

Same. Just something about his burst from stoppage that I love.

Not sure we’ll have the trade capital to really chase someone of that calibre given we have traded out our future first. I’d think it would take a late top 10 pick.

Yes

We pick him up before the draft
He's an SA boy. Doubt he'd be likely to sign with us.

If he did that with any club it'd probably be Port. His dad was a Port star, but he qualified as a cat B for Adelaide because he was born whilst his dad was working OS.

If he was any good port would have a crack big time.

No, our club medicos gave the all clear to Murphy after he passed the concussion protocols. He started experiencing dizziness afterwards, aka delayed symptoms. Our doctors aren’t wizards, they can only do so much.

Didn’t Murphy say he can pass the test because he knows it off by heart? And that he had blurry vision immediately after the hit? (Concussion symptom)

Anyone with common sense would know that a player like Murphy with his concussion history getting smashed flush on the jaw and then collapsing on the turf and being unable to get up for a while… what’s the most likely outcome here?

The concussion test is clearly not reliable, so if our medicos are using it as their only measure that doesn’t really absolve them.

The fact Murphy, with blurry vision and clearly very unwell, was cleared to return to the field should raise major concerns.

They didn't consult Dr Kappa - clear case of negligence.

He'll be a delisted free agent. If we can make room on our senior list, the draft doesn't enter into it.

Port just picked up Ratugolea and Zerk-Thatcher to bolster their backline - They may not have room for him.

On your last sentence, he said that he wasn't feeling unwell when he had the test (which he does know by heart) and he didn't have the blurry vision until after the test. That's when he came clean and he was ruled out.

Medical science isn't perfect and who said that the concussion test is the only thing that they rely upon? They would have checked pupil dilation for starters and various other physical tests.

If the symptom are delayed then they are delayed.

No, he said that he had blurry vision after the tests were over at the start of the second quarter, hence why he went back to the doctors and took himself out of the game.
If he’d had blurry vision immediately after the hit, he’d have told them and they’d have taken him out of the game immediately.
I know you love to think of yourself as some sort of self anointed expert on concussion, but you’re trying to criticise our medicos for the sake of it here. Get off your soapbox, take a seat and let the real doctors that the club employs make the calls on Murphy. They’re in a far better position to do so than you are.
