Kozi’s 2023 was quite ordinary. He kicked more than 2 goals only three times all year at both VFL and AFL level. 4.2 against VFL Richmond, 3.1 against VFL Coburg, and 3.0 against AFL Brisbane. Lots of 1-goal performances. His 2023 wasn’t that much better than Miller’s 2023 tbh.

One thing going for Kozi is his past. His 2021 season in particular was decent. Not Lynch’s 2022 level good, but still decent. If we can get him at least to that level, then his acquisition would be worth it.
He mentioned in the interview about working on his goalkicking as it wasn’t great this year, and the mental side of it. Said he’s feeling good about it so hopefully confidence in his goalkicking abilities translates into better conversion next year.

Also mentioned Lynch has been helping the cat B rookies with goalkicking. Good luck to him with Colina, couldn’t hit the side of a barn door last year

Will be an interesting forward/playa acquisition..lets face it, never going to replace a legend like JR8...just need a competitive streak to emerge and develop...may take some game time to emerge...will be a very interesting watch! Got Balta in the wings, possibly Gibcus...even Nank at CHF...with the new guy rucking...options, options...just need the best ones!

0.8 goals vs 0.5 goals.
Kosi is replacing Jack R TBH. Didn't love the trade but 3 years is almost minimum chips. Kosi was the last one standing. Kosi can play OK footy. I hope he finds the 21 form too.
Miller was on a hiding to nothing in his couple of games as KPF under the Mini gameplan. Solid KPD back up.
Ryan showed more as a goal kicking threat.
Lynch plus Kosi still need to get the small forward set up working....The team needs its defence, midfield and and rucks functioning too

People can say what they want about him but he could clunk them and he was ridiculously good at conversion.

I am going to throw something out there.

Can we play Jacob Koschitzke on the wing at times???

I know he is not Richo but I have said before I like what he brings. I like his combo with Balta from what I have seen so far. He looks mobile, He can't play forward all the time when Lynch comes back and he said he can help in the backline to.

So can he help us on the wing at times where we would play more mobile players around him on the half flanks as a combo?? He could drift forward or back and help us apart from transition giving us a different focal point and method

Jacob to me has a few traits that could present matchup problems for other teams. I would not play Balta on a wing but Balta can pinch hit in the ruck I think. Jacob looks more mobile so can he offer us something on a wing amongst other roles during a game? I am keen to investigate and Yze said he is looking for us to be a more kicking marking style I think it was said

No, he can't play as a legit wingman. He can play CHF and push up to the logos though.

I think he'll play an important role and allow Lynch to play out of the goal square.

Why can't he pinch hit wing?? Not enough run??

If there where running players on the half forward and half back flanks around him why not?? Rioli or Short could play on the half back, a heap of players could play on the half forward flank

What if Balta and Gibcus are up forward, let alone others?? Versatility will help Kosi and if he can contribute down back as well that helps him make it and be a more valuable team member in terms of creating a stronger more flexible mix.

If Kosi helps down back by drifting back it might make a less defensive combo of Short and Rioli more effective in terms of overall combinations

Even Taranto being used in combination with a Kosi would be very interesting. Obviously not joined at the hip but Taranto has run and he can play a lot of different roles and has the ground level expertise while we have a heap of other mids. Taranto seems to prefer playing up the ground than forward all the time as well, could he work in unison with Kosi in terms of a positional combination with appropriate spacings to bring others into the game?

If Taranto and others covered the run of half of the ground, without over compensating, it would allow Kosi with less run to be more effective aerially as a, forward/wing/back depending on the fall of the ball and as a target as well would it not? Bearing in mind Taranto could play inside wing as he has the contestability part of his game covered from a inside perspective as well as ground ball prowess. If Taranto was positioned closer to a wing the likes of Hopper would have to cover the other side but we have plenty of other mids and options on that front especially with long kicks like Short that can break the lines in different directions to change tact. It is all about maximising the options you have as well as the space over the ground that allows you to empower players with those options if used well in combination
