Interesting chap is our Brad, did not coach against the Saints last week - and travelled with his brother to the game against the Cats.
He didn’t have time off in October because of all the work that needed doing so took that leave after Christmas instead, which also serves to upskill the assistant coaches. He mentioned it in the long interview with twombstone the other day, sounds like the status quo at other clubs has finally arrived at Essendon.

Sharing a ride with his brother is kind of odd though. Surely one lives near Essendon and the other lives in Geelong? Or did Brad get a new car from Dutton and his brother wanted to go for a spin in it?

he’d probably been drinking - the game was at 5 on a friday so he’d probably have to get there at what 3?

So Ross saw it as a practise game.
Brad saw it as a practice game.

Then Brad saw the first three quarters against the Cats as a practise game, and the fourth quarter as a practice game. Not a big deal I reckon, though we would all have preferred a win.
Nah our boys get ahead of themselves faster than anyone. I'm fine with a loss.

In fact, to ensure we don't get ahead of ourselves next year, let's get 23 losses this year.

8 years is long enough to turn the list over at least three times without even trying.

Perhaps that’s how long it takes to draft enough culture worthy replacements though.
It is close to how long it took to build Richmond's last Premiership side once they changed their reciting staff and similar time for the Demons under Taylor. For Melbourne the only two left from when Taylor started to play in the GF win where Gawn and McDonald. They actually did turn over the list a couple of times.

The only difference is that at Tullamarine, 8 years = 4 coaches 😕
