Me too, but when he comes back to be part of our three-peat in 2027, I’ll forgive himI begrudge Daniher.
He didn’t have time off in October because of all the work that needed doing so took that leave after Christmas instead, which also serves to upskill the assistant coaches. He mentioned it in the long interview with twombstone the other day, sounds like the status quo at other clubs has finally arrived at Essendon.Interesting chap is our Brad, did not coach against the Saints last week - and travelled with his brother to the game against the Cats.
he’d probably been drinking - the game was at 5 on a friday so he’d probably have to get there at what 3?He didn’t have time off in October because of all the work that needed doing so took that leave after Christmas instead, which also serves to upskill the assistant coaches. Sharing a ride with his brother is kind of odd though. Surely one lives near Essendon and the other lives in Geelong? Or did Brad get a new car from Dutton and his brother wanted to go for a spin in it?
Plus obviously they’re a bunch of mercenary w***ersI'd say every single one of those players had a legitimate gripe against our shambles of a club that was totally unprofessional and had no idea how to run a competitive outfit from the CEO/President down (not to mention obvious saga implications).
So Ross saw it as a practise game.

Nah our boys get ahead of themselves faster than anyone. I'm fine with a loss.So Ross saw it as a practise game.
Brad saw it as a practice game.
Then Brad saw the first three quarters against the Cats as a practise game, and the fourth quarter as a practice game. Not a big deal I reckon, though we would all have preferred a win.
Brad probably doesn't mind the preseason losses for sure. It gives him more leverageNah our boys get ahead of themselves faster than anyone. I'm fine with a loss.
In fact, to ensure we don't get ahead of ourselves next year, let's get 23 losses this year.
Even if we tried to do this - in true Essington fashion, we'd win two games...In fact, to ensure we don't get ahead of ourselves next year, let's get 23 losses this year.
We wouldn't want to be accused of tanking. Winning 2 games removes a whole heap of unnecessary pressure.Even if we tried to do this - in true Essington fashion, we'd win two games...
…And then the teams losing to us can be accused of tanking insteadWe wouldn't want to be accused of tanking. Winning 2 games removes a whole heap of unnecessary pressure.
Two things can be true….McKenna could be right about the club and still be a bit of a dick.
Not like the last plan was working.8 year plan. * me.
It is close to how long it took to build Richmond's last Premiership side once they changed their reciting staff and similar time for the Demons under Taylor. For Melbourne the only two left from when Taylor started to play in the GF win where Gawn and McDonald. They actually did turn over the list a couple of times.8 years is long enough to turn the list over at least three times without even trying.
Perhaps that’s how long it takes to draft enough culture worthy replacements though.
The only difference is that at Tullamarine, 8 years = 4 coachesIt is close to how long it took to build Richmond's last Premiership side once they changed their reciting staff and similar time for the Demons under Taylor.
