and Hewitt

It will come down to who wants the ball more from the two midfield groups. And ball use. The blues do use the ball well so must put pressure on their mids.
the guy that slappd the taste out of cowboy neals mouth and got off ?

The big question is - 'How significant will the impact be, with the return of Dusty, Lynch and Nank?'

There's definitely going to be an improvement with Nank and Dusty in the middle and Lynch up forward but how much. Enough to make up the massive deficient from last week? I'm not sure?

Last week really showed me how little depth we have. Our midfield looked woeful. We lost the game out of the engine room and highly rated players like Hopper, Taranto and Prestia looked helpless. I'm hoping Nank can give these players a better look at it but we need ball users around stoppages not just ball winners. Our midfielders disposal was average at best.

Bringing Dusty into the middle improves the quality of the group tremendously. He has the class, speed and skill to find the ball and find his team mates. He also takes the pressure and focus off the others. While he's still running around for us, we will rely on him in the middle almost as much as we do Lynch up forward.

Lynch is the most important player in our team. He gives us a target up forward. He drags defenders away from the other forwards, creating space. He is intimidating and gives the rest of the side confidence. He is a link up player and finds others closer to goal. My hope is that his presence makes Balta a better forward by giving him a weaker defender, creating space for him and connecting with him in the F50. Balta looked all at sea last week so I expect him to be infinitely better this week.

I think this game might be closer than many opposition supporters expect..

Also a comment Yze was always a short term coach and Newman will take over haha.

Think we made the right changes based on last week. Let’s see how we go.

Not all doom and gloom just yet. GWS last year were out of the equation by round 10 (3-7) - then came storming home to make the finals. I hope we can do something similar. They probably had a better list at the same point though even after we took hopper and Taranto

At clearances, quick off the mark and by hand. Same as Rowell and friends. Creating space over 5 to 10 metres.

Outside straightline leg speed in the open is an entirely different thing.
Not overly quick over 5-10m, Rowell is. By hand yes. We have to hold them up around the ball, if we match them in the middle, we are a decent chance. We have the physicality to do that with Hopper, Taranto and Prestia. Last week we were caught napping a bit, but Rowell was just too good around the ball, Anderson also. Those two are stars, besides Cripps, Carlton's midfield don't have that quality.

To be fair... It was looking incredibly grim in that first half. It could've really gone down a record breaking path credit to the team that they fought back.
