Good first game of the year for Hunter Clark. 18 touches and 12 tackles. We’ve all seen it, but he just has that body work and cleanness that you can’t teach. Hope he gets a good run at it, cause it helps our midfield big time.
was very good today no doubt, a lot of small important touches in the trench

I thought it was a good effort, regardless of the result. Great pressure. Should have been rewarded more.
Wilks best game.
Sincs best game.
Steele got into it... eventually.
Clark was good.
Windhager was huge... really huge.
Higgins did some very good things. His 2 kicks leading to marks and goals were great. Considering his extended holiday.
Wood got going towards the end.

Finally some reward for effort. It was a real slug fest today and we had to work really hard for that win. In the end a very good win away from homw against WCE who are much better in WA.

Positives:
How good is Mason Wood, going forward and winning the game off his boot.
Paddy Dow the clearance king we desparately needed.
Windhager did a brilliant job and shutting Reid completely out of the game.
Naz, Sinclair and Wilkie great games and back to form.
Battle another really good game is under rated IMO.
Marshall fought hard better in the 2nd half.
Henry adds class to our forward line.
Clark did some good things winning clearances.
Steele pressured and tackled hard, but needs to win more of the ball.
Wilson stands up at important times.

Negatives:
King injured again (the guy is like a pretzel).
Ross plays an entire game through the wing & midfield for 6 disposals.
Owens & Membrey really quiet until last quarter.
Caminiti goes missing for too much of games.

Seb's stats look horrible.
4 of his 6 possessions were contested, so he must have been amongst the thick of it, but jesus. (surely they weren't tagging him ).
He had a few tackles at least

I'm probably the only person on here who thinks it but despite the love fest for Reid, if given a choice I would take Daicos over Reid every day of the week.
I dunno, Reid straight in the middle, and pretty good for 12 gamer vs eased into it on the hbf.
not sure they are comparable players though reid the bull or Daicos with the outside polish

take either in a heartbeat but lets give Reid maybe another preseason first

Can we put windy on Daicos next time too, just to make it fair?

I was watching a small TV in a pub with no sound but every time I looked up Mitch was having an impact. Same with Windy. Mind you Nas always seemed to have the ball and doing something good with it. Darcy having a great game too. Seems like a game to remind us that if their kids are ok, ours are also developing ok.

Onto Sandy. With a small injury list this season starts to become very valuable for development.

Good win on the road.
Dow building nicely.
Another good game from Henry
Forward line looked good with Wood at FF and Butler back.
I think having Hammer, King, Membrey in the forward half doesn't provide enough frontal defence and they don't kick enough goals.
We need Crouch back in the middle.

A good win, we needed that more than getting a no.3 draft pick instead of a no.4 draft pick.

It wasn't our best win but it was better than our recent performances, in the 2nd half anyway, the 1st half wasn't looking so good.

Our midfield looked better with Clark returning, Steele and Dow got better as the game went on and Windhager owning Harley Reid in the second half helped too along with Wood getting back to his best form, it should look even better when Crouch returns.

Henry is starting to fire again which makes a difference to our midfield and up forward too.

The King injury the only downer, hopefully it isn't too serious as he was looking pretty good and kicked 2 goals before he went off.

Having king, hammer, Owens and Membrey in the fwd line doesn't work.

Skunk is too small to be a real threat in the air and not fast enough on his feet to be a threat as a small fwd. Doesn't defend so dosent offer anything.

Hammer at least applies pressure when the ball hits the ground, more tackles than king, Membrey and Owens combined.

Owens is being wasted playing the 3rd tall position.
