I don't know how it's happened. Looking back on it... It still doesn't make sense.

How could it have come to this... Selecting NED ******** MCHENRY.

Taylor, Pedlar, Curtin, Ryan, Edwards....... ANYONE else could have been given a go to see what they've got. Even just to give them a bit of confidence.

What the actual F is going on at the club.

I would note the official Telstra heat maps suggest he’s been playing a fair amount of wing though
The Telstra Heat Maps??? Oh Dear!!!

According to the heat maps we are playing 6 wingmen and two forwards. I think everyone who has watched the last month of footy would agree that our wingmen have been Jones and Sholl. When they are rested (they both average around 85% ToG if they are not subbed on/off) then another player takes their place on the wing. Sometimes Murphy, Nankervis, Cook, McHenry, even Dawson and Soligo.

If Cook gets a possession on the wing and there is 16 or 17 of our players between him and the opposition goal then DO YOU believe that instantly makes him a wingman?

I think it’s diabolical Rach is left to face the media about his form, when ROB and Smith have been consistently worse. As part of the 8 man leadership team you’d think they’d step forward and take the heat off a 20 yr old kid finding his way, but no happy to leave the heat to the kid. Failure on and off the field these two.
Rachele has his own media contracts with 5AA and Channel 9, they are setup by his manager, not the club. ROB and Smith aren't avoiding media and forcing Rachele to do interviews every week.

On top of that, ROB and Smith also have weekly slots on Channel 10 (and ROB also has one on Mix 1023 as well) that have been setup by their managers, so they do speak to media frequently. Both are genuinely good people off field and are respected leaders at the club, despite their recent poor form onfield.

Maybe don't call them out for things that are completely factually incorrect.

So we made..... one unforced change? What a joke.
Yep it is, but it does genuinely sound as though Smith was going to be dropped until Cook's injury threw a spanner in the works. Still should have been dropped anyway, so interesting to see what happens next week once Tex, Rankine, Murray and maybe Cook are all available for selection.

McHenry back in is *****laughable. They have no idea what they are doing with Hamill. Good to see Dowling finally get a run. Hopefully he makes the most of the opportunity before he is subbed out at half time.

This club.

Dowling, in a half, will eclipse anything Ned has done in his entire career.

If Dawson is injured, why are we playing him?

Get him right for Sydney - or they think we'll lose without him this week...
He's probably 90% fit or something and with Tex out this week, they saw it as a chance to play him largely as a forward. I don't think they thought we would lose without him this week, but given our best two players are already out (Tex, Rankine) and our best clearance player is also out (Crouch), I can understand why we wanted to still play him even if not fully fit. His minutes were managed a fair bit last week too.

If Tex and Rankine were fit, I think we would've likely rested Daws.

I thought you said in another thread that if you took the best attributes of Dean Cox and Max Gawn and combined them into one Ruckman - he still would be half the ruckman that Strachan is.
Now that you remind me I think I did.

No they aren't, but anyone thinking Strachan offers more than ROB simply hasn't watch a game of SANFL.

Prove me wrong Strachany!!
He is less unco. But RoB a better Ruck.

Neither are great.

I thought Strachan could have been a Forward/Ruck option with the Burgess/Gollant/Himmelberg roundabout.

I like Tex being out, gives a chance for Fogarty to actually step up as the main key forward.

If they make Dowling the sub and have McHenry start I will be upset.
