or
you couldve just said dards banned mow isnt
or vice versa

Generally speaking, I'm not into disparaging characters to state essentially that mowman quit us, lifestyle is the one that got banned for a specific reason.

There is method to my madness and I chose those two specifically so that people could form an educated opinion as to why people might not wish to or can post. It's not always a Boolean response.

Also, more than happy to chat; in private, if specifics get requested so escalations can happen instead of basically a witch hunt in public. Not the first time these sort of discussions happen, it's a persistent thing since the "fracture" that shuffled the mod group here.

Also also, since you mentioned Dard, might as well drop another hint;

If he was banned, could he have logged in today?

Next we might go into the pool room to find a corpse and a woman in red... and yes this a "Clue" reference.

Kelly Le Brock killed Gene Wilder with a pool cue??

I think Chief took his ability to post away. He can look but not post.

He has lost a number of privileges, yes, including posting.

Since you wielded the sword and "fixed" the forum, it's been really dull and lost all of its energy and creativity. Sometimes the cultural damage done by umpires is worse than anything that they are trying to fix.

I recommend that you reinstate his posting. He questioned your authoritarian methods but he was annoying more than offensive. He was a huge contributor and you've managed to take out all the unique personality the place.

You've shown us all how much power you have but ruined a forum that you didn't really give a shit about before. It seems like a petty ego trip to be honest.

Well said mate.

I didn't see too many people busting out their magnum opus on here - might have been drowned out by the sound of back-slapping over bullying, misogyny, homophobia, shitposting, trolling, and baiting?

As the appointed regional lead for the back-slappers collective, I resent that remark!!

You must pardon my ignorance. I was told you're the assistant to the regional lead for the back-slappers collective.

Not sure what you mean by people putting up their magnum opus. I don't think that's a fair summary of Dard. He was a good poster and overall a great contributor. That's actually quite slanderous even.

The most prominent posters make enemies just through posting so often. Taking the side of a few squeaky wheels has made the forum worse. A range of different voices make the place interesting. At the moment it's like some kind of oppressive church with a bunch of pissy happy-clappers shouting down anything outside the orthodoxy.

I wasn't talking about Dard specifically. Dard put himself in this situation with a number of his own actions which many people were witness to, and some tried to downplay.

We have gone over this again and again.

If the board isn't what you want it to be, make it what you want it to be.

Within the rules.

If you want to post things you don't think are for a general audience, go to a private group or private conversations.

This has always been my advice.

Dard was deliberately annoying you but banning him from posting just seems unreasonably harsh. You had just come in and smashed your way through a forum that most of us enjoyed as it was. He was pushing back against what he saw as overreach. I'd hope if someone did that on Carlton's board some posters would push back too.

I can't post for others. I want more than an echo chamber. The Saints are a small club, we have limited voices. We'd rather be left alone to do our own thing.

I really shouldn’t enter this convo but here I go …….. if George had “copped his whack” and pulled his head in for a while, his supporters may have not been so inclined to go nuts on his behalf and the associated flack that caused could have been avoided.

George as a mod expected people he carded to cop it sweet but when the shoe is on the other foot ? He sulks and disappears. If he took his medicine and self reflected for a while, who knows - he may have got his mod powers back at some stage ? I would like to put on the record that while I had a "personality clash” with George to put it mildly, I recognise his passion for the club and this forum and acknowledge he did do a lot of great stuff here, so legit kudos for that.

I appreciate that that is how you see it.

You might see it that way, but I had been working with George for a while to keep the people but smooth off some of the rough edges that were not workable on a public community site. George was given many chances, a lot of help.

In the end he didn't want to mod unless he could card people. He decided that was not how he wanted to moderate and left.

And we all saw the number of "I don't like George, but" posts and messages. In the end I seemed to like him more than most Saints board posters, which was an interesting experience.

He was pushing back against what he saw as overreach.

By doing what he did? That's not the way to work with the people who run a community you want to be a part of.

I'd hope if someone did that on Carlton's board some posters would push back too.

Again, there's a way to do it and there's a way not to.

And you could if you followed the site rules. If you couldn't do that, you could take it to PM or private group.

Honestly, you saw a slice of the activity and discussions over a long time. I've tried to explain, but given I do not want to forensically examine private discussions on a public forum, it became hard for people to accept that they didn't have all of the facts and the conspiracy theories flew thick and fast.

The activity on the board is in your hands. If you relied on other people bullying and feuding and ignoring site rules for your entertainment, I am sorry for your loss.

And that is where I will leave it.

But you joined in April, after George was outed?

He overreached, to put bluntly, and took on-site to off-site against a site admin. How did you think that would end just curiously?
