Tribunal can't say that they agree he used the correct technique, based on a technique video they approved, and at the same time say that he shouldn't have used it because jones was fractionally closer to the ball.
Even Port Adelaide's council argued the contact was reasonable and not reportable in Davies defence.
Shocking decision.

Head clashes are about to become a problem.
It’s the way a lot of the modern players play they do it to try and draw the free kick
If this happens in a prelim final say with say Daicos i wonder if the outcome would be the same.

Jones is very injury prone as he shows mad courage . Davies is quite tall and well built for a mid, a smaller player may not have caused the same injury
Credit @WinnableAFL the difference between a loss to GWS and a victory against GWS is a 20% vs a 55% chance of making finals. Current odds pre-match are 34%. This match would require a Herculean effort to win, but it is so very important to our finals chances.

Team Announcement: Three changes to face the Giants
The Gold Coast SUNS has made three changes to the team to take on the GWS Giants at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
What a morale boost getting Lach back. Need that run and carry and it’s great we can get some games into him to get him raring to go for 2025.
Looks like Sexton and/or Buddas? could well go forward or at least up to the wing if we are planning to spot Weller in on halfback.

Not surprised, lost miller and ainsworth who play the high half forward role and Weller is a good kick going in forward 50.

Wouldn’t be surprised looking at the line up if we see the return of forward Sexton. No Rosas or Ainsworth. Need some natural forward craft
