I have heard on the grapevine that Irelands Ultan Kelm is currently on the way to Australia for a trial with the Fremantle Dockers.
Edit: seems to be confirmed here by a local journalist in Ireland
Ultan has had a good couple of years with Fermanagh. He’s a powerful athlete, very explosive with great speed. Interesting to see how he goesHuh. This came up in a conversation at work this morning, with Geelong also looking at another Irish rookie.
Probably doesn’t bode well for Williams, unless the afl plans to increase list sizes and/or cat b spots

Half back would suit him well.
Lolwut? Now it has emerged that he is set for a second shot at the AFL with the ‘Dockers’, a club with a rich history, hosting the state’s first organised game of Australian rules all the way back in 1881

'The Ultan of Swing' ?we could do a lot worse than a free swing.
The original Fremantle FC played then apparently.Lolwut?
Yep - apparently we're a phoenix club that returned 100+ years after the original Fremantle FC folded. The original Fremantle FC played then apparently.
You missed David Mundy's debut?Lolwut?
Half back would suit him well.
We won 10 flags, including a 4 & 5 peat. Cheating umpires cost us a 9 peat. The original Fremantle FC played then apparently.
We can count those like all the Vic clubs yeah? ><We won 10 flags, including a 4 & 5 peat. Cheating umpires cost us a 9 peat.
It seems that many of the Irish players that make it start off at half back.I would hope he has settled his body by 25 years old, but if we are looking for another half back ready to go we could do a lot worse than a free swing.
I really do hope that is a very tongue in cheek comment. And here we were all thinking the 'Dockers' started playing in 1995. Thankyou for enlightening us random Irish journalist.
It makes as much sense as Geelong adding some extra ones in now.We can count those like all the Vic clubs yeah? ><
