So are we going for the trifecta and trying to land Bailey Smith? He seems like much less of a need now given our teams development and the potential to move Weddle and others up the ground with Barrass and Battle coming in
not really a problem that, we as supporters are more attached to having guys play than the people at HQ. If a guy is playing better than you are and will effect winning more then he plays.I'm pretty satisfied with just leaving it at those two. We're already going to have to shift two players out of our backline further up the field, if we bring in anyone else we'll have some really good players not getting games.
B graders????The Barrass Battle combo is going to completely change our side.
Barrass in the goal square
Battle CHB intercepting everything.
Sicily free to do whatever he likes.
Weddle able to move up the field.
Plus we now have Battle / Hardwick / Sicily / Weddle as genuine swingmen to swap forward / back when required.
12 months is a long time in football. Go from missing out on 2 B graders (McKay / Rat) to bringing in 2 A graders instead
Pretty sure there was a nap room on the KCC blueprints. I'd suggest that gets named in his honour.I know Sleepy Mark is a running joke we’ve all ran with, but **** me we’re going to have build a statue of this guy at the KCC at this rate.
Thats a 2025 problemHow do we fit Perryman into the team? Given that these two guys are going to be starting and Lewis is a walk up start, which three players are going to get pushed out of the full strength team?
Gunston Frost McKenzie?
You read/heard a journo say Saints offered 950 & our offer was less, you then quote a post that says Battle came to us for less than Saints offerSurely you not paying $950,000 a year for battle
NOT a coin grabber. Just a bloke like ginni who was #alwaysHawthorn. Taking less money in order to wear our colours.
Surely you didn’t choose to follow northSurely you not paying $950,000 a year for battle
looking forward to Battle and Barrass being done early and this board turning to be "WAKE UP SLEEPY!! DO SOMETHING" by the final dayI know Sleepy Mark is a running joke we’ve all ran with, but **** me we’re going to have build a statue of this guy at the KCC at this rate.
NewkIt feels that we have a lot of childhood hawthorn supporters on the list now Battle Ginniven McKenzie Ward who am I missing?
Seems that the threepeat chickens are coming home to roost.
A lotWonder how much influence Roughy had in swaying Battle.
Most logical post I read for some time. Totally agree with you.So seriously on Ward where does he fit? Day Newk Worpel are first 3, Nash Mackenzie McDonald would seem next 3 with Moore Weddle Watson the chop outs. Wings seem to be CJ and D’Ambrosio with Weddle and Amon the covers.
We have to be realistic and also focus on how to improve the list balance. What are our gaps? KPF seems like #1 3rd forward seems like #2 think we are set for small forwards and defenders. If players like Ward Maginness Serong allow us to acquire those positions you have to consider it at a minimum. This draft has several promising forwards that go between 10-40 getting 2 with second rounders seems to make sense.
Players like Shanahan Sims Faull Gerryn would fit the bill nicely.
This is a bold strategy for a bloke supporting a team that currently has Jaidyn Stephenson, Aidan Corr, Dylan Stephens, Zac Fisher, Darcy Tucker and Callum Coleman-Jones as their big name recruits and have had their hand out for AFL assistance for what feels like 8 years in a rowSurely you not paying $950,000 a year for battle
It feels that we have a lot of childhood hawthorn supporters on the list now Battle Ginniven McKenzie Ward who am I missing? Was Chol rocking the brown and gold in the Maasai Mara as a kid?

It’s around 30% of the playing group now.It feels that we have a lot of childhood hawthorn supporters on the list now Battle Ginniven McKenzie Ward who am I missing? Was Chol rocking the brown and gold in the Maasai Mara as a kid?

This. The last two seasons have been absolutely phenomenal.I know Sleepy Mark is a running joke we’ve all ran with, but **** me we’re going to have build a statue of this guy at the KCC at this rate.
