Travaglia 5, Dodson 38, Boyd 50, Barrat 28. Elwood wearing 39. Boxshall has 33 and 37 looks like Said. 39 is Elwood, Tauru isn't out there. All newbies bar Boyd are training separately.

Just on Boyd, a lot shorter than Moose but built like the proverbial - the definition of an immovable object out there!

The senior boys are training with a bit of fire in their belly. Very vocal and engaged. Super solid session so far.
Said #33 & Boxhall #37

Except I doubt they fly Boyd over and have him train, if he hasn’t been told he has a spot.

And if Marshall goes down, relying on a still-raw Moose, who’s only barely 22, and a totally unproven 18yr old in Dodson, is borderline insanity.

Boyd is 26 and match-hardened at senior level in a top league, or I acknowledge that he is both quite short at AFL level, and we may have the same issue that we had with TC in that him playing first rock at Sandringham may affect the continued development of Moose, and the initial development of Dobson.

On the one hand, I’d like to see Moose and Dodson share the ruck, with some time chop-outs from Keeler, because I think it would aid all of their developments and show us what we actually have going forward from the list.

On the other, there’s the above if Marshall goes down with an injury.
I’ll keep my powder dry on Boyd but I have my concerns..

Its a smart move. Heaven forbid Roma gets injured.
Cant even think about Dodson right now and Max still a baby in ruck terms.
They'll make it work.
Pity were still going with the sub and not an extra bench player as they would have helped I think.

Yeah, Carlton fans said he left with a lot of players happy to see the back of him. Don't know how true it is but certainly not many fans upset about him going.
As long as he's not in the mould of that other coach we had with "short man syndrome", Watters!

(Apologies to any vertically challenged posters on here.)

I remember talking to a player on the fringes under Richo and he sounded the same. Richo seems as benign as a doormat but apparently he was a bit of a lying vindictive campaigner if this guy has anything to say about it. It was hard to reconcile a guy who was as dry as sand having a dark side. It made him seem a lot more interesting than the perception.

That said never trust a little man. They are nasty.
Yep, just look at that Chris Fagan bloke. Wouldn't want him coaching our boys...........

The saints in no mans land thread has so many people refusing to see any way we could possibly improve from last year.

As it stands to me, we showed good form in the back end of the year (including beating a grand finalists and a prelim finalist), weve (softly) adressed the midfield issue with Macrae and have considerable expected improvement in the likes of Windy, Pou, Garcia, Wilson as well as role players in Clark, Dow etc. Our forward line has a shot at using its VAST talent with a decent pre season, some continuity and chemisty (combining with a decent if not good midfield) and our backline remains pretty solid (albeit Battle is a loss).

To me its weird most non saints fan seem so assured well be terrible this year.
It's called History

Main board is a cesspit anyway.

You'll find it's the same people who say every off-season for a decade
-Geelong collapse imminent , who don't
-Carlton top 4 lock, who havent been close to a lock
-Essendon will finally win a final, just outlandish shit.

Sure they will be right eventually, but so was that octopus who 'predicted' world cup winners. Pretty sure that octopus had a better strike rate too. An octopus has 9 brains, and it's still 9 more than any of those posters.
Haven't been on the main board in any meaningful way for 10 years. Full of trolling 14 y.o's.
Here and sometimes the cricket forum is it for me.

Hearing about the leadership qualities that Pou has displayed this preseason, it makes me think of Elijah Tsatas slumming it at the Hangar. One is looking like a standard setter, leader and potential star of this league, while the other is a chance of being deliste

Not happy with Enright no longer being our backline coach

Jonah Campigili trained with a few days ago and he is not on our list
I know, and he’s signed for Sandy, and I believe so has Elwood. I just find it curious that they didn’t take him as a rookie, where he’d have been officially under the club’s eye, but still have him training with and us and playing at Sandy, where he’s an open target next year or midseason.

Harry Boyd was training. He's a HUGE unit (arms & legs) although not overly tall for a ruckman at 198cm. Very, very strong though.
Kinda Shane Mumford/Jason Ball/Jeff White/Leigh Brown areas?

Can he jump?

Careful; you may have to eat your words 🤪

Makes me like him even more.

Anything that cesspit of c*#%s find negative is ok with me.
