It would have sunk hours later with better rivets was the conclusion. Passengers would have been rescued if they didn't go tight arse on the rivets.

Figure out whether weak rivets giving way when the Titanic collided with the iceberg may have been a factor in the flooding and subsequent sinking - (the rivets didn't cause the Titanic to collide with the iceberg)

No rivets now - welding instead - also there's fewer icebergs - more likely to run into a derelict yacht abandoned by a Russian Oligarch who's on the outer and can't flog gas anymore
