I'm sure I read / heard somewhere that this years exit meetings were a lot more forthright than previous years. Players were left in no uncertain terms where they stand and what was expected of them over the off season. I say about time!

Interesting take from that interview was when he said Clarko wanted to get him in to bring experience & help lift the youngsters to the required level. Not a great endorsement of what Simpkin, McDonald in particular have done over the last few years.

Agree with you that the AFL would want this made intro a redemption story. However this method only worked in the past (pre AFLW). They're snookered now & they know any way they try to spin the story won't pass the sniff test with the girls team.

Plenty to give on field & even more off field I reckon. He's a solid unit who will set an example to the 1-4 year players with his standards. He will show them the size you need to be & tank you need to survive & thrive a full season & finals.

Something doesn't add up here. George knows he's a gun? George MAY be a gun in the future, but there is a lot of work he needs to do before he can say he's a gun ie., strength, fitness to run out 4 quarters, skill improvement, etc Seems we have a lot of players on our list who overrate...

I didn't know he played there also. Only thing I heard about his junior career was that he won something like 9 straight B&F's at Langwarrin as he progressed through the age groups.

Gettable said Clarko had met with Houston in the last few days. Do we think that if Al got out the guitar & sang Dan a ballad during the catch up that it would help or hinder our chances of landing him??

Hodge wasn't Brisbane's best player when he went up there but I'm sure he helped change the standards & helped them get to where they are today in some way. The plan I'm sure is for Parker to come in & do something similar hopefully.....
