Not sure which thread this belongs in but missed out on getting tickets so does anyone have any recommendations for where to watch the game (ideally a pub that has a decent sized screen and plays the sound).
Was an absolute nightmare trying to get a ticket (i failed). Also have plenty of mates who wanted to go with a bigger group of friends and so decided to try wait since members could only get one ticket. Anyone know of a good pub to go watch at?
Strongly agree.
Logan seems to get under the ball alot and is often nudged / pushed under the ball in the forward 50. Amartey and Mclean do that less and do manage to either mark or get the ball to ground but they just cant apply the same defensive pressure. Point in case, Logan disrupted the...
warner is an absolute jet. Damian Barrett came out and said hes a future brownlow winner. Hope he doesnt put the mozz on him.
Also agree that theres lots of exciting kids. Gulden could be the best of the lot and we havent seen enough of campbell. Campbell i think was a mid but in classic...
Norths board is always a good read on this. One poster said if they did a redraft Mcdonald wouldnt crack the top 10. I actually hope Phillips turns out decent and he might still yet but boy am I glad Mcdonald fell to us.
I wonder who we would have taken had NM taken Logan. Probably DGB or...
If youd bothered to read earlier posts. You will have already seen what ive said. But obviously youre not capable of reading further. As Ive stated, there is no objective evidence because no ones carried out a detailed study and I've already said a sydney swans or wb supporter isnt likely to be...
I literally said ask any supporter. If there was any objective data thered be an equivalent of a royal commission by now. I'm sure every comment you make is supported by factual data as well.
Every team gets away with throws. Im sure theres throws on the suns side missed too. Bulldogs get more missed throws than any other team. In some ways its almost an art im conning umpires but a throw is a throw. Ask any objective supporter, non swans or bulldogs and youll get the same answer
Should probably consider that maybe, just maybe the supporters have a point. I dont buy into any conspiracy with the umps but the number of throws the bulldogs get away with is crazy
AFL 360 had a crazy stat that errol is leading the % of kicks inside 50 that are marked. he's 1st in the league by a long way. 47% vs 2nd who is around 35%. Crazy that a player with only 4 games experience is kicking the ball so well. Show also made the point that he's playing in one of the...
Interestingly i saw Callum Sinclair outside the SCG last thursday part way through the second quarter. I was just very late for the game. I'm not sure why he didnt stay to watch the game. Seemed very strange.
The whole premise of the argument here is that Sydney has an unfair advantage with the way the academy is currently set up and they probably do, but thats only if you look at it stand alone.
Some people on this board have been going on about equality and fairness which is something any league...
i may be wrong here but we dont have much of a history taking talls in the first round. This may be because we havent had high picks until recent years, but it seems like the swans strategy is to go for mids at the high end of the draft and then just try poach key position players (plugger...
Thought the same in that hed become the next premier intercept player, but his marking has been off ever since. Thought he tended to make wrong reads or spilt easy intercepts. On potential he could have been or could still become an elite defender. Cant say he was close to elite the last two...
KPPs often get paid on potential. And he has shown potential just before getting injured. There are periods where he looks like he could be a star and helps our structure. and then he spuds it up. However, given our lack of good entries into the forward 50. Im not sure hes the only one to blame.
I wish we'd play Mills in the midfield. It takes time to develop there. All the top picks who play in the midfield seem to take at least a season or two before they start to dominate. Given where our season is heading I dont see why we dont try to develop him. His development has largely hit a...
We couldnt even stop Riewoldt. Hopefully Grundy and Mcveigh dont drop off much or else we will be in trouble. I do think Melican will fair better than expected though. If anything the blocking the space thing helps us a bit. Buddy gets pinged for it a few times a game i feel.
They still have compo picks but tend to be later in the draft. 3rd rounders and after i think but a 3rd round pick in the NFL is much more useful than a 3rd round pick in the AFL just given how large their drafts are and the sheer amount of players (53) needed per roster.
I think the AFLs idea...
Think freo did well targeting needs but with hindsight losing the trade period is always possible.
Pick 6 could turn into an absolute superstar
Hogan could get injured and never get on the park
Neale could take it to another level (although I doubt this as i think he wont quite hit top 5/10)...
Do think its a bit hypocritical but the Ablett situation was a little different. He's the prodigal son for Geelong + all that history from his dad. Kelly just lives in WA.
At least players dont holdout like they do in the NFL.
NFL - 1 year to go on contract "offer me a big fat new contract or I'm holding out."
AFL - I want to go home. Please trade me or else I walk next year
I wonder if the AFL would ever consider the franchise tag.
I also dont know much about him. Only hearsay from Geelong supporters. A good sign though if they think he's got good footskills. Someone brought up his numbers earlier and his disposal percentage of 70% doesnt really suggest elite.
Not sure we had to be active given our limited draft capital for Blakey. But yes, knowing Horse he'll probably play Blakey as a defender. Maybe ruckman just for kicks
