Am I the only one who is completely shocked that our club couldn't fill a measly 14k member allocation for a home prelim?Yes, that is the case as below.
I heard on some podcast today that generally the home club gets more tickets allocated as they have earnt that 'advantage' of a larger crowd.
So not sure why this wasn't the case for us. Just the usual AFL love for the Swans I guess.
The SCG holds 48,000 fans, so only 28,0000 tickets are available for club members. The 50-50 split means Collingwood members have been allocated 14,000 tickets, but that could increase should Swans members not take up their entire portion.

I thought the 14k for each for Swans and Collingwood was decided before tickets went on sale?Am I the only one who is completely shocked that our club couldn't fill a measly 14k member allocation for a home prelim?
Any wonder they gave Collingwood the same allocation.
Pathetic effort
I'm not sure how many are unused but even when I went in at 11am there were hardly and seats left.Am I the only one who is completely shocked that our club couldn't fill a measly 14k member allocation for a home prelim?

Hey….
I dare say the only reason we wouldn't have used our full allocation is because people were stuck in the ticket queue and the ticket window passed before they could secure a ticket. Too many people saying they missed out from the members period to suggest we didn't buy up the full allocation.Am I the only one who is completely shocked that our club couldn't fill a measly 14k member allocation for a home prelim?

Try this one.Was an absolute nightmare trying to get a ticket (i failed). Also have plenty of mates who wanted to go with a bigger group of friends and so decided to try wait since members could only get one ticket. Anyone know of a good pub to go watch at?

There isn’t a bad seat at the SCG. Even so called restricted view isn’t restricted
PmHi all,
I’ve put down three barcodes for the ballot. Unfortunately, now one in my group won’t be able to make it.
I don’t want to muck around with calling Ticketek and changing my entry now, in the small off-chance they muck it up and take all of my ballot entries out.
So in the chance I get 3 grand final tickets I will have a spare. If anyone is keen for the spare ticket (if I get it) please PM me and I will sell it for face value.

I got in twice. First time I got timed out due to selecting the wrong payment method, then logged back in around 11am and got in with 10 mins. You 100% had to not refresh - just wait in the queue. Some people said they had better luck via mobile but I was on a laptop. My friend just informed me that nobody he knows was able to get tickets to the game. Now that involves a lot of people. Including many from Rainbow Swans. Has anybody here managed to get tickets?
There are three seperate groups of friends that have not had any success getting tickets. They all started applying when the ticket sales opened. The other thing is a few here and on ROW are saying they were only allowed one ticket per barcode.
I wonder if Pies fans had trouble getting tickets or were only allowed one ticket per barcode?

No. That’s not right. There is always equal allocation between club members in finals. So let me get this straight, our home game so AFL goes and purchases 15k tickets for Pies members so they can attend. So we basically remove our right to have a home final then and deserving of one? Nearly 1 in 3 fans will be Pies based on that. Would we ever have 1 in 3 at the G for Swannies?
Big clubs seem to dictate finals ticketing.
On the contrary, I didn't know anyone that missed out.My friend just informed me that nobody he knows was able to get tickets to the game. Now that involves a lot of people. Including many from Rainbow Swans. Has anybody here managed to get tickets?

There is no "queue" - it's random. All that matters is volume of devices (i.e. the more separate 'entries' you have the more likely you are to get in)I got in twice. Everyone was restricted to 1 ticket per barcode.
What I have heard is SCG members had all sorts of problems as they lost about half their usually access. If they were SCG members then maybe that was it?
