Letting the world know we wanted Watts to move on wasn't the way to make sure we got a good (or even fair) deal.
Still at least we can move on now and become a football club that actually expects minimum standards from players.
But then how many of those 18 "effective" were to a bloke already under pressure, back instead of forward or came after a 5 - 10 second wait which let the Blues get back and flood rather than getting the ball on quickly?
The responses are exaggerated for effect when opposition supporters put their two cents in.
Pretty normal and pretty regular across all the sports boards I frequent.
In conversations with my family I have said at great length about how stupid what Hogan did was (Trac was lining up for goal FFS...
Mate I'm not sure what sort of intellectual discourse you're expecting here... the board has certain threads marked as "Opposition supporters welcome".
You'll notice this isn't one of them.
As a result I (and I suggest the majority of regular posters here) couldn't give a toss what you think...
You're right, but those other blokes you're talking about weren't being put in our list of best players... which was the entire point of the post you're replying to.
Edit: And I addressed the turn up in the second half of the fourth quarter in that post btw.
I've said before I know I'm in the minority around here, but the sooner we drop those two the better we'll be.
Rather than derailing this thread, my discussion on their game against Carlton is in the GBU thread:
How Watts, Tyson & Harmes can be getting in peoples Best lists astounds me.
Tyson butchered the ball, was far too slow to make a decision and then took the wrong one almost three quarters of the time.
Watts was a liability with the ball for the majority of the game and was his usual self off...
Out: Tyson, Watts
In: Vince, Kent
If Frost/Wagner fit they come in for O. McDonald
If Hogan gets a week Spencer comes in and we rest a ruck deep forward, unless maybe BOTH Frost and Wagner are good to go.

He was asked by the club media guy at 1:20 whether we'll see Kent, Harmes or Tyson coming in for the forced changes, Goody answers by saying they all look good in the VFL last week, all 3 will come in to...
Does nobody know when Ben Kennedy is contracted to? I've been looking but my GoogleFu has failed me miserably.
I'm pretty much wondering if he gets a year to show what he can do next year or if this year is his last as I think it is which mean he has this year to show what he can while fighting...
As well as Gawn's dominance they couldn't handle the sustained pressure our midfield put them under either.
Best thing about the game was we took them on at their own game and smashed them.
It was the best our midfield delivered the ball to our forwards that I can remember.
I'm not sure if one was because of the other or if they both happened on the same week, but I am leaning towards the delivery being the cause.
edit: I also feel that Garlett is critical for us in the forward...
1) Not sure there's really THAT much difference between Carlton and the VFL right now, but I take your point. Harmes would probably be my second preference, but he worries me a bit.
2) We clearly rate Watts very differently and I appreciate that around these parts I'm in the minority.
3) With...
Joel Smith out for up to 4 months after having surgery on his shoulder today:
http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-03-27/smith-to-miss-up-to-four-months
edit: Also Hogan (ankle) on crutches at training today and Gawn (back) walking laps, but club "adamant" they'll both play against Carlton.
I'll take Kent and Frost (assuming the toe's better) for the two forced outs.
And Spencer for Watts.
We've already seen what the extra tall forward does to Carlton once this year and it has the added bonus of not having to put up with Watts' half-hearted attempts to make a contest or get to the...
Pretty sure it's streaming on the app.
Either way it's on the website here:
