Yep, the oilier the beans means they have had deeper/longer roast levels and so more c02 getting trapped. Looking and tasting are very different

Crema is not an indication of quality, more or less Crema is dependant on longer / shorter roast times and how much c02 gets trapped in there. Longer the roast = more CO2 = more Crema. But new wave coffee joints don't like burning the coffee so therefore you're gonna get more flavour but less Crema
