I see Windy like Libba as far as how he approaches the game.

Hard work and discipline will take him far. He will need every bit of it too as i am not sure he will/would make it as a mid without a steely focus to get everything out of himself.

I admire what he's done so far, as his work ethic is on another level.
Hugo Garcia is like Libba…keep an eye on him next season, reckon he’ll surprise a few!

Have coffee in Japan that was wonderful. Was a filter type coffee, looked like a science experiment with it going through a whole bunch of glass tubes.
St. Ali started the process in Australia. We went and they told us we couldn't have milk with it, told them to GAGF'ED and we had it with milk in Japan. F'kn a-hole coffee snobs.
Yeah, there are passionate people who swear by that approach over here. The specialist places do make a good drop.
Average cafe and coffee shop brew quality is still poor though compared to back home of course.

Trouble with those filters is you end up with huge lines of people waiting, especially at festivals, markets etc. Poindexter working on his own, chatting away while the coffee drips slowly.

i know there's alot of optimism in pre-season but i finally feel like it might be clicking at the club. i always felt we were a bit of "if you build it they will come" type of philosophy, where success and the eventual climb up the ladder would just happen. the whole mindset and approach from 2011-2021 just felt completely wrong.

it finally feels like they're knuckling down and putting in the effort required to get success. where it's about process to get outcomes that are not a given.

very exciting times.

Hunter has beefed up

Ross’ presser tells us everything we need to know.

We won’t mortgage the future just to be competitive in 2024, playing the kids that will grow around Caminitti, Pou, Owens, Windy and Nas is the priority and we expect to be able to compete while doing this.

Pleasing to have a coach who isn’t coaching for the now and is chips in on winning the whole thing, not just competing.

It was round 4 this year really sold me on Owens. 19 contested possessions. Most AFL players will never have 19 contested possessions.

Windhager played most games in 2022, but wasn't remarkable. 213 disposals in 18 games. Followed up this year with 304 disposals in 19 games. Then there was his tagging work.
If he keeps improving he'll be good as gold.
When he moved to HB and bit of Wing, he found his confidence. He’ll build on that and I’m tipping a top 10 b&f finish for him..

"Dual narratives"
Might hear that mentioned a few times over the next year.

We've got a lot of players who won't be selected at different times next season because we've got the depth to rotate one or two "mid-field - flankers" at a time, depending on the opposition, ground and form. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Windy doesn't get more mid-field time, as well as a couple of other roles. I think the club will be careful not to burn the young blokes out by asking too much of them for too long. Last season injuries meant games to Poo, for instance, when he otherwise probably would have been rested.

I think Windy is really only just getting started and is close to having the stamina, strength and endurance for mid-field roles for the remainder of his career. He has the focus, determination, a lot of skill and a lot of tricks and will be another cult hero for us for a decade. I love Windy, not in a creepy way like some of you other weirdos, but a healthy, sporty type of love!

Ross is very optimistic if he has collard playing a game. shows where the mentality is which isn't a bad thing.

Highlights wilson is good to go like Pou
You can tell he’s a bit upbeat. I know he did this last year a bit, but I’m not sure it’s been his trademark to pump up players in the past? Im also glad that he throws in the names of Windy and Hammer.

Well I’ve managed to find another crap cafe. It amazes me how I can make a coffee with a lovely crema and yet these shops with $20k coffee machines come out with the deadest flattest coffee having had to transport it all of two meters from behind the counter.
If only they’d stick with Westinghouse.
Crema is not an indication of quality, more or less Crema is dependant on longer / shorter roast times and how much c02 gets trapped in there. Longer the roast = more CO2 = more Crema. But new wave coffee joints don't like burning the coffee so therefore you're gonna get more flavour but less Crema

Well it ends up looking like a flat Pablo. I’ve found the oilier the beans the better the crema.

Very confusing times for me. Like you I've spent a decade complaining about how poor the direction or the club, the poor appointments, the lack of vision, standards, quality etc. It's really hard to find anything negative to say since Lyon came back. It's like a new club.

It might not get us to the top of the mountain but it's much more likely than where we were heading not that long ago. Brave decision from Bassat and at a high cost to his credibility if it hadn't gone well.
