I don't mind him as a sub, but still seems to struggle to run out games.

If Owens gets more mid time I don't reckon we need him.
I think Clark is building and he was good in stoppages 1Q against the Hawks, I'd rather have him in there, but sub could be an option

In: hill, king
Out: jones, Stocker
Sub: Gresham

Biggest game of the year for us, blues playing great footy but their midfield is depleted and Steele is back in form and Crouchy is flying. Especially if max is back, you think owens will spend a lot more time in the middle, if we can win enough ball around the middle, and give our forwards a chance, I think we will be hard to beat. Win this and I can see us winning one of the next 2 games and making the 8, lose and I reckon we will struggle to win 2 of the next 3.

If we win this it'll hopefully prove a positive catalyst for the remaining games. There's been times in the past - when we've won - that we have rested on our laurels after defeating supposedly "better" teams.
I don't think Ross, Boris, Harves and Lenny will tolerate that.
Proper finals vibes for this one.
God, I hope we smash 'em.

It suits us to be underdogs. I don’t think it suites Carlton to be favourites. They are looking a little pleased with themselves which they are entitled to be because of their recent white hot form. Form is everything in this game but they still have to get the job done and we might have other ideas.

They are due for a reality check. They beat Collingwood which was a good win against a good side but Collingwood uncharacteristically kicked themselves out of the game. Port rested half their side. We are probably the opposite. Our footy has been okay but not getting wins. We are probably due for a scalp. It should be a good match. Attack first over defend first.

Our best beats them - particularly with their outs. I think it will just be a matter of which St Kilda turns up.

Haven't been this excited for a game in awhile.

If the boys turn up ready to play, and we can have the game played on our terms, we're a good chance of knocking them off.

At the same time Carlton is in red hot form and a fast start by them would make it difficult for us to catch up.

Might be the first 'finals like' game for some of the young kids who I have no doubt would be up for the challenge.

I'm beginning to like this forward line, wonder where King, Membrey and Hayes will go?

I'm making a bit of a 'Footy Gods' post, but you could just tell it wasn't going to break Collingwood's way. McStay missed a sitter from memory, Naicos hits the post and misses a front and centre crumb he'd kick 95/100 times, Elliot's free on the goal line (should have gone around the body) passed to Mihochek who is normally a very good set shot and he misses too... it just was not happening for them, all the 1%ers came at once.

I think the expected score thingo (which I am quite a fan of) had Collingwood winning. Had us beating Melbourne a few weeks back too. Converting under pressure is obviously a factor and as you say, Carlton got a really good win; but they are carrying on like they are top ~2 flag favourites now.

Sounded like Membrey and King both playing from what Ross said this morning.
More sounded like Max is good to go but not sure he is mentally right to go i thought , if he is not confidant in his shoulder he should not play as he will be a handicap
