Still big tiger fan, but I'd consider myself as big a blues supporter as the tigers these days. Something i would never have imagined saying a year ago.
Could be, the Murphy example was completely hypothetical just to make that clear, and with experience perhaps Doc would make a great captain, it won't be anytime soon though.
Very good and very professional, and he still could be captain, but he's a no-bullshit kind of guy that would tell Murphy off if he ****ed up, for example. Not everyone responds well to criticism. To be captain he'd need to balance his leadership style better than he does at the moment, he has...
Gibbs leaving is a blessing for Carlton. He's unpopular amongst the playing group (they don't necessarily dislike him, but he has few close friends there and he's not an off field leader that has charisma, etc) and he's likely to bring in value to the club in terms of picks and players. Tuohy is...
Unlikely to be Doc as he is very divisive amongst the players, it's not likely going to be taken off Murphy anytime soon anyway, but both Cripps and Weitering are more likely.
Dustin Martin using a snap as a forward 50 entry gets pretty frustrating to watch.
Also, watching Chaplin try and run around small forwards like Nahas as though he thinks he is agile/has pace.
I've done a fair bit of boxing training, I never got in the ring for an organised fight but I trained with guys who did/probably still do, and I agree. I used to love it but now I agree with you, there is no sport that's worse for your head.
I don't know how we got him for pick 70 if GWS had a contract in front of him and there were other clubs interested too. He must have done a Yarran and said "I'll only go to the tigers", which just makes me like him more.
SOS did well this trade period, the list had to be decimated before it can be rebuilt, and in doing that he got rid of players that were not 100% navy blue. Good luck with the rebuild, bluebaggers. There's a lot of shit flinging going on, but the game would be terrible without rivalries like...
I am stoked we got Yarran, he's had a bad year but there are obvious reasons for why that is. Just google his dad, he had a bad break up with his girlfriend, and last but not least he was playing for the blues so if that doesn't get you down I don't know what would.
I can wait to see him in the...
Because we were in his ear telling him to not try anymore, lower your trade value, how he should come to Richmond. And then he gave up. Nothing else to it, apparently.
I don't think they'll make the grand final, but they could go very close again. Also, I doubt Petrie or Waite will "fall off a cliff" just because they're getting on a bit, but injuries would hit them very hard. If they got Aish as a bit of outside class I'd expect them to be winning a final or...
.
I'd rather be paid 150k less to not play for the blues. At Richmond he's got a good culture and a very strong chance to be playing finals. At the blues he's got a long rebuild at a club he hates. What do you think he'll do?
FFS he hasn't even had contact with your club since the end of the...
Remember that Richmond's average player age is more than a year younger than Carlton's. Shouldn't you guys be peaking around now? We've still got a lot of natural progression to come haha
That's the beauty of players that are young, they have the capacity to improve. I thought I'd have a look a the ages of regular Richmond players to see what we can expect in 2016, if they'll be the exact same.
Two 30 year olds.
One 28 year old.
Two 27 year olds.
Three 26 year olds.
Four 25 year...
Everyone claiming that 2015 is a 'shallow draft' need to understand what that means.
It doesn't mean that the kids in it are worse than other years, it means that the amount of AFL talent in the draft is less than other years. What a 'deep draft' means is that there is more players with talent...
As a club with no father son picks or academy players, why should we care? We've got limited space on our list and don't need to be hitting the draft heavily. 2 first rounders, Townsend, and some rookie upgrades and we're good!
You do know that two second round talents points don't equate to...
So you think there isn't 20-30 18 year olds in 2015 that can make the grade as AFL footballers? Why bother going to the draft at all then? Just use pick1, get your gws kids, and go home early!
Your kidding. You'll get nothing. He'll sit out the year rather than play for the blues. You're such a bitter poster, Richmond have generously offered an end of first round compo pick for a player that will either quit footy for a year or play for Richmond. SOS is Dodoro 2.0
Judging from what I've seen and heard, he'll be a beast out of the blocks and over 20 metres, but don't expect dodging, weaving, or running bounces. He'll use the speed to run down anyone thinking of making a fast break.
He's a big boy so his tank won't be that impressive, but not crap, I...
Bell had a much better year, he's a very good footballer. But if Richmond wanted to push you guys we would just offer 31 and count on him not meeting with any other clubs and you guys/him refusing to let him wear the jumper again, right? If pick 18 is all good, then 19 is surely good too. If you...
I think it's safe to assume, mate! Congrats on landing him, I would have preferredpreferred he come to the tigers haha, but seriously that's exciting. I want to know the trade though!
He could have tried to screw you over, but respected that you lot wanted a first round pick, and he has got you one pick outside the first round. So you're claiming a triumph because Richmond is doing the decent thing? Be serious. SOS probably isn't as salty as a lot of the posters here and...
Going by recent recruitment history... not much. But who knows, SOS seems highly rated at drafting and Carlton is his first real chance to prove that. He could pick you up some great young players with those early second rounders.
