Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

Dude, Yarran is contracted. He doesn't have the ND or PSD as an option. Sitting out the year and losing 400K is also not an option. If he wants out of Carlton, he MUST be traded.

If by Lunchtime tomorrow, his choice is Hawthorn or Carlton next year, what do you think he'll do?

No doubt his preference is Richmond. But if it's out of Hawthorn or Carlton at the crunch....he will accept.

Now, the Tigers can remove all this doubt. They have 12.

Interesting chess game being played.

SOS has 19 as insurance now, but is hoping for better.

You're right that he doesn't have ND or PSD as an option this year, but you're wrong about the "sitting out is not an option in 2016" thing.

Yarran has every right to sit out and not play for the Blues next year. Sure, he won't get paid, but trust me, he'll be reimbursed in one of his Richmond contracts for that lost income at some point down the track. :thumbsu:

Pick 19 isn't a back-up, it's SOS's only option.

The latter.

"It seems almost unfathomable that a fully fit player in his prime would sit out a season to get to his club of choice, but that's apparently what disgruntled Blue Chris Yarran is considering.

The Herald Sun reports the 24-year-old is so desperate become a Tiger that he could give the 2016 season a miss and join Richmond as a free agent.

"It’s a possible option," a source close to Yarran told the Herald Sun."
So you don't know... but HUN have put out an article on this topic that could 1. Be True or 2. Like almost every HUN article... be made up for a headline...

Hmmm

Would Yarran rather play with the reigning premiers, a top 4 team (North) or even with his mate Betts or stay at Carlton/take 12 months out of the game?
go fishing in WA then come back and play with the tigers in 12 mths time feeling fresh. At the same time screw over a club that he has lost all respect for.

Good answer?

Lolol....an emptier threat has never been so empty. Sitting out a year and doing 400K lol. Tigers slipping him 400K to sit out lol.

Really mate...please.

This is concerning for two reasons:
1) A club not trading fairly. Richmond repositioned themselves into an appropriate place for compensation, if Carlton renege now they will look really bad. The exact same thing was said about Richmond after our Astbury trade fell through if we didn't then use pick 12 to get Yarran, so I think the criticism is fair.
2) What is going on at Carlton that a player would rather spend a year not getting paid than play with them. Another club doesn't tell a player sit out a year and not get paid, there's no way they could compensate that player enough so suggestions that's the case are just moronic.

The first won't matter, 19 will get done no problem. Just not sure if it's today or tomorrow but I'm expecting sooner rather than later since there are no hold ups any more. SOS has held firm long enough to placate Carlton supporters.

Now, rf, re-read what you just wrote, and realise your error;)

and, even if he did knock back 17, he must have reason to believe he can get 15, and then maybe 12.

When the time comes that he doesn't see a chance of getting better than 19, he will take it. Simple really.

Don't think so

This is about showing he's tough and sending a message

Said a week ago we won't trade 12 and you won't accept 31. If he's not accepting 19 now I don't think he will back down, so this deal is toast

Actually, still yet to see Carlton offer anything that could actually be of value to trade Pick 12 yet.

Yarran and what????

In this draft, it isn't great.

Yazz is a match winner. Compare him to some no-name at pick 19.... Richmond need a flag in the next 2 years. Carlton know this.
So you're suggesting your club can't find talent at pick 19? Wow you really back your club

Love that we told him to do it if true, carlton want to play games, lets play.

Round 1 belting of you blokes will be even more sweet now...
Really would not surprise me. You have been whispering sweet nothings into Yazz's ear most of the season. So Richmond.... promise you the world and end up leaving you washed up on the rocks.

Unlikely we'll get band 1 or 2 for a player who'll take a year out of the system.

Generally #19 isn't a bad pick. The problem SOS has with it is no doubt with it turning into a mid 20s selection with all the academy picks (rort).

That is the key decision IMO. Its either take pick 19 and secure a 200 game player, the academy selections actually work in our favor as those picks are used on those academy kids, means a quality kid is not touched. OR keep being big headed, burn a servant who has been loyal for 7 years and get nothing in 2016 trade period as Yarran walks to us after sitting out the game..also keep in mind, if he sits out, after the lists are lodged, his wage is included in your TPP and you run a man down.

The latter.

Highlights what a pea brain he really is.

He's also one of the laziest footballers I've ever seen that actually gets a regular game.

So Yarran, is 'Great' then?

I think the pick 19 fits perfectly ;)

Again, potential is a futuristic judgement. His actual performances are fact. Which eliminates his worth being 12.

Lolol....an emptier threat has never been so empty. Sitting out a year and doing 400K lol. A Tiger supporter giving him 400K to sit out lol.

Really mate...please.

I'm confused, a Tiger supporter giving him 400k?

That's not what I said, what I said was, he'd be rewarded down the track in one of his playing contracts with Richmond, if he did have to take that extreme method of getting to the club.

I don't think it'll come to that, but I guarantee you, there's more chance of Chris Yarran taking a year off football, than there is of Carlton getting Pick 12 for him. Yarran isn't pissed at Richmond, he understands we are doing everything we can within reason (which does not include the unreasonable request of Pick 12), he's pissed at Carlton for being stubborn.

Yarran is already ours, and he's ours for no better than Pick 19, we're just waiting for SOS to catch up. :thumbsu:

lol god you post junk.

carlton went to Aish mid year, Aish has a shocking season, is that the blues fault ? The diffrence is, you fly up there, Aish listens then rejects you.

Bottom line, we have shown all that we worked our tails off to get you a first rounder, you now have rejected it. You should have said at the start 12 or nothing but you did not, you did not have the integrity to do so, if you had, Yarran may have been a hawk as we would have said then, we are not offering 12, but you did not.

Its all on the blues.

You just speculated on a whole lot of stuff rather than acknowledge you were wrong.

Do you think Yarran is prepared to stay on our list and not play? Do you think he wants that?

Do you think Carlton are the ones wanting to get rid of Yarran or is he the one wanting to leave.

If you are following the play, you will see that Carlton have had offers and have not taken them. Who do you think is waving the contract around here? Yarran or Carlton?

We didn't want him to leave in the first place. We stated he was required. We stated he has a contract and unless we get something good for him, we would not trade him.

Yes, he is holding the club to ransom by selecting only one suitor but we're the ones using the contract here, make no mistake. He's gone off early and now would be sweating bullets hoping this gets done. Carlton .... cool as cucumbers.
Are you still going to tell me how trading works or you going to admit that your wrong, I think we are getting closer now don't you? or you going to continue to be a woman and ignore my posts and not admit your wrong. Omg you can't be serious.... #sigh

Lol, you guys seem to have trouble reading. My point was you need talent NOW. You could pick a goodun and develop him for a few years and just watch that window close on you in the meantime. Yarran will get you closer to a flag, NOW!

Geddit? :D

Yarran isn't a need, plenty of developing talent and a mostly cemented starting 22
19 is worth more to Carlton, and you think that will be a no name
I on the other hand know who will be there around that pick and he's talent so will be quite happy to keep pick 19

So you think there isn't 20-30 18 year olds in 2015 that can make the grade as AFL footballers? Why bother going to the draft at all then? Just use pick1, get your gws kids, and go home early!

Oh, please. The Aish comparison is laughable. Thanks for the lol. :D

Did you work you tail off did you? hahaha. Sure.... you want him, you gotta work for him.

The REAL bottom line is you have to pay what we ask or leave. When I go to a coffee shop and ask for a flat white and don't like the price, I don't cry and scream like a lil bitch, I move on to the next shop.

Pay up or move on.

the only ones being washed up on the rocks is the carlton football club, wow how bad a place must it be to want to sit out a year rather than go back haha...

If I were the tiges I would give sos until 5pm today to accept pick 19 or walk away. He is wasting everyone's time now.

Maybe he is trying to make up for the draft picks and fine he cost you all those years ago?
