Help My Friend is a Cyclist!

Yeah, just run....and spend money on shorts, singlets, hydration belts, HRM's - before the physio bills for those buggered knees!!! Q: What do you call a runner with stuffed knees? A: A cyclist! (boom, tish) Disclaimer: This was written by a cyclist. The views expressed therein may be caused...

    I don't hate Essendon anymore,over hate.

Who are, as yet, unproven at the highest level...being led by a coach who has never coached an AFL team to a flag. Bit soon for the Richmond supporters to start boasting and putting down other clubs, I'd say. Especially given the Tigers' history of tearing themselves apart.

    Why all the Richmond bashing?

Good point. Richmond are quite capable of tearing themselves apart. Don't need our help at all.

    I don't hate Essendon anymore,over hate.

Can somebody please tell me what great achievements Terry Wallace has actually made as a coach? He might be a really great guy, brings on young players, helps little old ladies across the road, etc, etc...but I don't remember him actually winning any premierships.

    Terry Daniher ???

Re: Re: Terry Daniher ??? After all that NTPM was the only one with the correct answer....although the other answers fill me with hope :) Breaks my heart to see TD in those colors.

Blockbutsr matches advanatgeing teams are a myth,

You are right, the figures were good...but the theory on that was they would have been even better with less Friday night games...as (anecdotally) people had rung the club saying that it was hard to get away from work for Friday Night Footy and that they could not take the kids. Sorry if I...

Blockbutsr matches advanatgeing teams are a myth,

We can all insult one another, but I think that the point made in jest is valid. My point -- however badly expressed -- is that the AFL should do more to help traditional Victorian clubs like the Roos and the Dogs -- whether it is the salary cap or whatever -- because I personally would...

    Losing passion for the AFL

Re: Re: Re: Re: Boycott round 11 Oh FHS, what a load of bollocks...the game's succeeded without the Sydney Swans for ages and would continue to succeed without the Sydney Swans. Sydney will never be an AFL town. The sooner some folks realise that (particularly those in the AFL...

Blockbutsr matches advanatgeing teams are a myth,

Whats the point in being pro-active and innovative when you do hit the jackpot (Friday night footy) it gets given to the big 4. [/B] Interesting that Essendon approached the AFL asking for LESS Friday night games, because they have an ADVERSE effect on attendances and memberships (less...

Caro awakes from a 12 month slumber

Agree wholeheartedly. Perhaps it is time for a pay per view Club Channel. Then the Eddie McGuires of this world can rabbit on about their marvellous Poies -- and how they are being shafted by that nasty AFL -- all they want.....and none of the rest of us have to listen.

    Sam Newman: Essendon undisciplined

Re: Re: Sam Newman: Essendon undisciplined Yup...it's helped make Hawthorn the biggest pack of soft c.ocks in the AFL. Please - we do not want this kind of advice. Football is not meant to be a touchy-feely kind of pursuit. Ride boldly lads, and never fear the spills. Just...

The Biggest payback for the loss of Caracella?

Re: Re: Re: unfortunate? Agreed. But Caracella isn't a "reject" either. That was my point. Greedy, perhaps, but a good player. I'd rather have him in my team than playing for the Bris-scum :D

Who really deserved the Michael Tuk medal???

Heaven forbid, but I agree with Nick. I sure as hell would like Biglands running around in red and black!

    Collingwood

Sorry Pies supporters, but I had money on the Crows to win. They rucked better, they cleared out of centre better -- like I thought they would -- and they were better prepared for the game. Of course, being fully prepared to play games in March, does not necessarily help you in...

The Biggest payback for the loss of Caracella?

Re: unfortunate? Have to correct you there. MOST of our rejects (as you put it) I reckon Ladhams played a top game tonight and I reckon Hardwick has played good games for Port Adelaide. BTW, I voted for a flag. It's the ultimate in payback.

The Kangaroos are rated the worst side in the AFL

The team that thumped Essendon in Canberra will not finish on the bottom, but it's so early to be making these kinds of calls. A bad run with injury (see St Kilda 2002), or a run of narrow losses (see the Swans' 2002) can really take the edge off a season and see players not reaching maximum...

Would you support a breakaway league?

The book sounds interesting. Agree that players are paid too much. Although, I have worked with former AFL footballers and for the risks they take and the big chunk of their lives that they dedicate to training, playing, etc I think that they should be well rewarded. Just not to the point...

Would you support a breakaway league?

That's as may be, but at least you did not have to go interstate to follow your team. Once upon a time, the biggest road trip was Geelong. Also, I do not remember too many players getting paid 400k. Now, it is not uncommon. No doubt a fair slice of that increased revenue finds its way into...

    Grand Final At The Dome

Totally sound reasoning. But, hey, when you've got Australia's biggest chip on your shoulder, why worry about reason? 'Oh the world is against us, you're all Victorian bastards ganging up on the Croweaters'...please get over it some time soon. Both Crows and Port supporters are getting...
