I was listening to an NFL podcast and apparently the NFL has told their teams not to do Bluesky yet because they haven’t agreed to a content deal with the platform.
Not sure what other clubs are doing but wonder if something similar is happening with the AFL?
The paid blue check mark has ruined twitter. You go to a post and then have to scroll down past about a hundred identical blue tick bot replies.
Bluesky is ok at best, too much of an echo chamber at present. It’s much more my side of the ideological spectrum but boringly so.
Don’t disagree but it’s not like the dees have been run well either. Even Collingwood was run so badly they had to fire sale to be salary cap compliant.
Think the article covers the issue well - less home ground advantage at Marvel, and the small marvel clubs are almost always the ones who...
McDonald’s next goal from outside the goal square will be just about his longest ever.
I don’t see the competitiveness or the athleticism of a great key forward in him - think he’s a complementary piece at best for them.
I’m accepting of the reality and value of longer contracts for players you genuinely want to keep, but this says more about Carlton’s self evaluation imo.
Not a player worth 5 years even if he didn’t have the injury concerns!
Could be worth sending the same email over to the AFL too - AFL media has people whose entire job is creating video packages etc.
The pay probably isn’t miles ahead of what the lions offer, but more opportunity to develop skills - and access to cheap footy tickets too.
1. Michael Voss
2. Simon Black
3. Lachie Neale
4. Jason Akermanis
5. Jonathan Brown
Black > Neale purely because he played his whole career with us, and won 3 flags. I think that one is pretty close. I went Aker next given his skill, but he's definitely not my favourite person.
Browny...
I like to incur brain damage from listening to footy podcasts and Mick's opinions on politics were always pretty clear when he appeared on the Herald Sun one. Not saying he's had a heap of opinion articles like this of course.
Mark Stevens was another one who pretty obviously had a political...
One of the dumbest own goals to proceed with it once Dutton opposed it. In a functional sense too, changing the constitution to recognise is one of the most empty, token gestures that does nothing substantive.
Was doomed to fail and would have been easy to ignore by anyone who wanted to if it...
The people who disagree with Mick are not herald sun subscribers. He's very much preaching to the converted in that forum.
In terms of whether it was a 'political piece' - this is the second and third para:
Seems like pretty political content!
He can and will write what he likes and he's...
Mick has been pretty clear about his political leanings for a long, long time and it hasn't affected him. What's going to happen to him - be criticised a bit on social media? Oh no, what a problem for him.
He'll keep his job and keep living his life just fine. There's an entire cottage outrage...
We were cooked because we were missing easy shots and not setting up good looks going inside 50. Was 100% an execution issue.
The 'off-field' stuff was opportunistic timing from McClure to drop an irrelevant story but link it spuriously to performance.
