Is it just me, or could things be looking less daunting then once thought with a much more different outfit running out on Saturday night? The team will be looking much similar to round one then our last outing at AO.
I'm just banking on the idea that our slump was due to North not gaf about the season towards the end. They were cooked, players were injured etc. Here's hoping that they only ever had eyes for finals footy
How we are into mature aged FA's and using draft picks, rather than chasing elite talent is beyond me. We clearly dont have the greatest track record with development
Showing interest in 26 year old plus players who have been around long enough to be decent at the game is just starting to seem like safe list management from Joyce for a team who doesn't want to bottom out.
Wow - A grade midfield talent was what we were after for two years straight. That big fish is starting to appear more as the Loch Ness monster. We wont be seeing shit.
Where has this Well's leaving business come from?
I guess a positive in the Brown talks means they are still in strong desire for finals contention for the years to come - but does that influence scott's desire to play more youth?
Lol if bard does do that, which he will - choosing mature players who are performing. We will be in the exact same position we were in within the next year or two. Disgruntled youth being frustrated with opportunity. Tread carefully bard, tread carefully.
Has O'meara's management been talking with Essendon? And if they go to the pre-season draft are we ruled out, surely the only way we could be in the running is if we made a monster offer correct?
Looking at the R1 line-up, I agree it is pretty much almost an identical line-up.
Should Waite be fit, does Maj Stay?
And if Jacobs and Wright get the all clear - do they take Dumont's and Mullet's spot?
The only way I think we have a chance at winning this is if North come out with a kamikaze style approach and blitz a thirty point 1st-2nd lead - then play that defensive stuff for two quarters. If we don't get on top early, it will only be a matter of time before Bett's, Walker and Jenkins...
I agree, I just wonder if its something they would actually do considering their previous stance.
With Hibberd, Neilson, EVW, Durdin, McKay and Mountford with no exposure and Clarke and Wagner with little, one would think now is a good time to use early round picks for a trade - unless Cam Joyce...
Players of immediate value I can consider them being interested in: Tarrant, Thompson, Jacobs, Atley, Clarke, Durdin, McKay
Potential value: Mullet, Daw, Garner, Wagner, Mc Kenzie, Wagner, Preuss, Black.
Besides Mullet and maybe Daw, those are the only two I think members could ideally be ok...
