Re: Round 12 - Carlton v Brisbane @ Etihad Stadium Sunday June 12 at 1.10PM
Not sure if anyone is aware that the bullants have the bye this week, so sending someone back for run would be useless.
truth is what would Robert Walls know about recruiting? When he was at Carlton who did he get? the best tallent from around the country was bought before the draft and salary caps started. anyone would have been able to see that the likes of sticks (decision before walls as well), bradley...
in my opinion, everyone else's has been broadcast and my half a bottle of scotch.... i want fev to stay but any player has a price. and it may open our "window". atm it is 2-3 years, as long as fev is around. without him it opens up that with the kruz as number one and the young yazz to be...
trade week wish list starts at mclean (ask the mod that sms'd me when it happened). then if we have to get rid of fev :( maybe brown and black and rich for fev and adrian gleeson (gleeson as novelty value) maybe 3rd rounder to fair?. wishlist is in the title!!
two premierships from salary cap 'cheating?'. why let facts get in the way of a good story, lets include the other 14, and why not our 1877 vfa premiership as well??
Our best win: probably the win over the dogs, 4 qts and against a 'good; side
Our worst loss: either sydney or freo
The single most exciting moment of the season so far: it hurts to say but fev taking the last mark against hawks, forget the rest of the story
The single worst moment of the...
Went to the match tonight, was really happy in the end with the effort overall and unimpressed with the so called saints fans that think they are better than everyone else. I had a 'upper class' 60 plus year old give me the finger in the 3rd quarter. It was hilarious. They make the collingscum...
imo... robbo shows what us supporters claim the kind of dedication and commitment we claim we would show if we had the fortune to wear that jumper for the reason we all dream of.
I know all i want from our players is total commitment and respect to the club and to leave nothing in the tank...
i think the important thing is that we lost the match, we were not beaten by a better side, we kicked badly, at goal and around the ground, we went down to their pathetic level and smashed in important moments by the umpires. yet we still should have won and with one bit of luck, we would have...
when it counted, gibbs was by far bog. robinson was best of new group. waite showed us why he is the leader of the backline and i though stevo played really well accross half back, including putting his body on the line.
3 gibbs
2 waite
1 robinson
well the fact that my daughter Silvagna is tuning 4 in march and i don't think she has ever been in the paper could make it a tad difficult (though she does love going to the footy with me and loves the blues).
i know of someone that wasn't happy with an umpiring decision in a carlton v filth match on tv quite some time ago, so in protest he picked up a toy car (hot wheel) and threw it into the floor, it bounced back and hit him in he tooth, he has a nice chipped fronth tooth to this day from it...
what about the fact that saints have won 16 finals in total, we have won 16 premierships. they have played a total of 22 finals series and we have played in 29 grand finals....
what was amazing was walking down the ramps after the match in the southern stand and hundreds of fans singing the song spontaneously!!
well done blues!!
i was waiting to meet someone at the hungry jacks at spencer street there yesterday and they were running late. i could not beleive the number of people that were ariving at that match as late as 3.15, an hour after the first bounce.
there must have been 300+ people from both teams that...
the good news is that we have not lost the first 3 matches of the season since 1989...and only 7 times in our history (the previous ones were in 1954, 1945, 1925, 1901, 1899, 1897).
so that means we are certs?
lets not forget that the greatest captain of them all only played one season of vfl footy before getting the gig in 1987.
notice henfry, diggens, sticks all won flags in 1st season as captain, lets hope judd joins this group
i always stay till end. i came close in round two last season when we were getting smashed by geelong and i had a complete knob next to me, so i ended up watching the last quater from the bar behind the goals in the dome. at least i could drink full strength beer in there.
i remember being at...
it really is hard to beleive that it was only 12 months ago!
and we all spent all that time in years previously hoping that we would improve slightly to eventually be stable again, then one bloke gets the right people in place and presto!
