Have to agree. Saw Zac a number of times this year and have no doubt that he is / will develop into a very good player for us. Would be amazed if they picked him this late in the season, but if the match up was required than I'm sure he would not let us down.
Re: Box Hill on the weekend
To answer question. Yes. Very good coming down ground towards goal. Good front centre player who is able to excute quickly. Also good at finding space on the lead. Could play HF, wing or FP.
Re: Box Hill on the weekend
Not sure about Morton comparison to morton. Collo has a number of things going for him. Stays on his feet. Kicks equally well with both feet and has good hands overhead. He also can kick goals from a long way out and on the run. Unlike the others Collo did not...
Re: Rookie: Brett Collins
Collo entered hospital today for a second operation on his foot. Apparently his foot was sore after the first game. Fracture has reappeared.
Gibson could slot in currently as there are not to many outside players still available. Moss, Muston and Gibson. Could only see Gibson playing wing, not mid field at this stage. McEntee is in his second rookie year. Can't see him playing seniors this year unless something drastic happens injury...
Like to see Suckling given a go in Box Hill ones. Has been pretty good in the backline at BHH 2's and now has four or five games under his belt. Uses the ball very well; his kicks find their targets.
The big development with Renouf will need to be with his kicking. Will step up naturally...
Re: Box Hill Hawks vs Bendigo Bombers, Monday Jun 11, QE Oval
Plaued a half a game again as he did last week. Went ok. Finished with about 12+ possies from about 50 minutes of game time. Played across half forward for half of each quarter. Took soem contested marks on long leads and...
Re: Box Hill Hawks vs Bendigo Bombers, Monday Jun 11, QE Oval
Skills in the Box Hill reserves games were appalling. Amazed Suckling wasn't listed amongst best. Hit a player with every possession and had plenty of them.
Thought that the umpires had too big an influence on the contest. You can see their body language and yesterday it was a dead give away. Everyone has done the new rule to death, but why is it not a free kick in general play as well. It is a contradiction when you see players in ground...
Re: Rookie: Brett Collins
Played his first game last Saturday with Box Hill twos. Kicked three and certainly showed a glimpse of how he plays. Did not play a full game. Came on for half of each quarter.
It was only a matter of time before he got hurt on Saturday. He was operating at 110% in an effort to get ready to play for the seniors again. His leadership, courage and determination is unquestionable.
Re: Potential Trade Bait
Totally agree. Agree. Bateman makes mistakes with his disposal at times but he also forces critical turnovers with his attack oin the footy. As for Young. We need goalkicking wingman which he is. Keep both.
I too like the look of Muston. Trouble with all these kids is they need time to find their feet. It was great that Ellis got a few games early so that he knows the level that he needs to be at. Muston needs another sniff so he can see where he is at.
Williams saw the writing on the board before last weeks game and said they were not as good as everyone thought. Have to say that we should go into the game confident we can win. Having said that our forward line still has holes in it as far as I'm concerned.
Takes a while for the umpires to click that a player is that good. Lewis has been up there all year but until the media really click into him I can't see the umpires doing it either.
Re: Rookie: Brett Collins
We have seen little of Brett so far but time to remind everyone that we still have one more player to be seen at Box Hill. Found these on a 'Mighty Hawks Thread' on Collo. Can't be far away from joining Box Hill.

Were you at the game or watching on TV? IMO and I was at the game Crawford was awesome. A lot of the time where he held the ball up was simply because there was no one to kick to!
Don't blame the AFL. Blame the state government. Waverley was never going to meet its potential without the promised rail link. It's water under the bridge now. We now have a purpose built / indoor stadium that caters for 50,000 or less. One which the AFL will eventually own as well.
Thought he did well and was impressed. The defence held it up ok hoiwever the offence run by our backline was nil. The way to put pressyre on the opposition is to make them chase you by creating options. Yoy can't do that when half of them don't get out of a trot!
A lot to like abhout his play. I think he is the type of player who is able to cut the ball out of congestion and set it going our way. My view, he is one the best contested ball winners in the side.

Enjoyable day. Revisiting Glenferrie today showed just how lucky the club was to get out to Waverley. No wonder the club struggled trying to develop players with those facilities. The most obvious thing was the size of the oval. How could any team, let alone an AFL side prepare on such a...
Yes, Knew Collo thru Haileybury and see him a bit.
The fact that he said hello to you wasn't an accident as he really has time for people. I'm going to try and track his progress. I have put my hand for him on Hawk- Eye.
Keep yr reports coming and let us know how he is fitting in at...
Re: Rookie: Brett Collins
Training today.
Great to hear that Collo was out on the ground after his surgery. Evidently still five weeks or so away from playing. They won't take any chances as 10-12 weeks is the recovery time for such an injury. Will surely have a heavy program planned for...
