    Western Oval memories

well remembered Son of Scray (you look like El Scraggo from Level 3, aisle 18!!) - in fact, I reckon I saw you sitting on the fence in the outer on Open Mike a few weeks ago when Chris Grant was the guest. They had footage from 1990 of a very young Chris Grant lining up for goal at the Geelong...

    Western Oval memories

I remember that last quarter well - it was unbelievable - a 17 goal last quarter. Danny Del Re kicked 8, Keenan Reynolds kicked 7 as did Darren Stanley - I could not stop talking about it for days.

    Zeph Skinner 2012

Saw Skinner and Djerrkurrah running laps at the Whitten Oval this morning. Both seemed a bit rusty however they both ran many laps. DJ was far more advanced than Skinner who dropped off the pace after a while and began to really struggle, almost stumbling at times then would find a little...

    Intra Club match 20th February

I have just checked with Mrs White City - she says he was quite good - number 43 - big, strong fellow, good tap work, took some marks, - she thought a better proposition than Skipper if Hudson and Minson falter or get injured - but is a rookie. Williamstown will have a top notch ruckman this...

    Intra Club match 20th February

Mrs White City is just home from the intra club match and was excited at what she saw. The White team won 14 goals 7 behinds to the Blue Team 11.9. Cordy, Roughead, Gia and Welsh all kicked 3 goals for their respective teams, with Minson, Griffin, Stack and an unidentified player (No. 1 Blue...

    Footy Show Revue

Re: footy show review Thank you No Name - the watching TFS next week comment was obviously sarcastic (not scarcastic!) however the actual comment about Cooney was a serious comment on the pathetic treatment of the Western Bulldogs by TFS. Thank God for Acker's sincere and genuine comments!!!

    Footy Show Revue

Re: footy show review I think the most relevant criticism of the footy show should not be directed to the players revue but the absolute disrespect shown to Adam Cooney. It seemed as though it was "oh, by the way, Adam Cooney is in the audience....", an afterthought. Surely, the winner of the...

What will we do with the great number 7?

I agree entirely that Callan Ward should be given the number 7. Ward has the potential, I believe, to be a great player and leader just like Scott West and will play many, many games for the red, white and blue. The number 7 is now very much entrenched in Bulldog history with Dougie and Scottie...

    Please!!!

Please Rodney, Johnno etc - no more meaningless diatribe - just get out there and DO it!!!!!!

We look slow and tired and with no energy levels!

Admittedly, I have just got home and am really peeeed off and emotive - however! Again, we allow the opposition to come out firing early in the match - North should have been 5 goals up 15 minutes into the first quarter. Early in the season, I believe we showed real character and were able to...

    Best goal you've ever seen...

No idea what year it was - probably 1960 or thereabouts at the Western Oval, Geelong Road end, on the grandstand side - Ted Whitten - at least 50 metres from goal on the boundary line - the most perfect drop kick I have ever seen - straight through the middle - I was only young but that moment...

    Bring in Streety.......

I wholeheartedly agree the Street needs to be given the opportunity to stop the rot the has been going on at centre bounces for the last month or so. Huddo has been terrefic however in recent games when he does get his hand on the ball, it falls at his feet and either the opposition somehow...

Western Bulldogs days away from the brink and financial ruin

I am not convinced this is solely about poker machines, if at all. I believe the Council should make public their reasoning as to deny the Bulldogs the relevant permits. There seems to be something behind all of this. Who is the decision maker at the Council? What are the real issues here...

If you could pick one past doggie....

Obviously EJ who I recall - although vaguely. But the one player who would do wonders for us in 2008 would be Kelvin Templeton at his peak.

    Level 3, Rows A-F

It has just been brought to my attention (although there is an inconspicuous mention in the latest Bulldog ENewsletter), that due to the expected large crowd and demand, Rows A to F on level 3 are reserved for sale. We are playing an interstate club for godsake, not Essendon or Collingwood...

    Libba bags Campbell Rose

Poor form by Libba. The Club does not need all this adverse media. The Club seems to be in excellent hands administration wise and hopefully 2008 will see a marked improvement on the field. We do not need this disruption. Every year the media seem to come out and try to cause disharmony...

    Anthony Rocca

If I was a Collingwood supporter (and thank God I am not), I would be absolutely pissed off with Rocca - not only for last night and last week but generally. If there is one player in the league who consistently lets his team down when he is most required, it is Rocca. His lack of chasing and...

    Gia

I was always a Gia fan but after this season I do not know if I can maintain my confidence in him. As far as being captain, I would not be surprised if he will be playing elsewhere by then. I think we are struggling to find a potential captain to be honest. Perhaps Mitch.

    A new low...

I believe whatever good games we got out of Cooney this year was a bonus. From what I saw of him during the pre season, I did not believe he would even play this year. He virtually did not have a pre season - he struggled to walk let alone run and participate in any worthwhile training. I just...

    A new low...

After quarter time, we looked tired, disinterested, not prepared to man up, the reversal of skill level was amazing, the constant fumbling, etc etc. We are physically weak - need to build body strength over the summer as a matter of urgency. Our centre square work is pitiful. No longer do West...

Tyson Goldsack - RD 21 RS Nomination

Goldsack was by far Collingwood's best player last night - how on earth didn't he get a vote in the Sunday Herald Sun today??? Bucks did not deserve a vote - certainly not before Goldsack.

Channel 7 - Please Shut Up!

Channel 7's commentary is pathetic. So biased to one team - in the last three Friday nights that has been towards West Coast, Geelong and St. Kilda. Bruce - give it away - you have lost it - go back to calling the races. Tim - stay with reading the sport on the news and leave it at that...

the last 3 mins of the 3rd Q good for footy??

It was funny for a while but then it became ridiculous - or did it??? Perhaps it was smart player management? With our interchange limited, it may have been thought to slow the game right down, virtually resting our players for the last quarter. And the way we played in the last quarter...

    Cooney fat and little?

I saw Cooney at training a few times in the pre-season and I doubted he would play this season. He was almost a wheelchair case!! He is coming along very nicely and wait until the second half of the season when his fitness picks up. In the circumstances, he has been exceptional to date.

Shaun Higgins NAB Rising Star !

His use of the ball is superb - at the moment he may not be a great stats getter - but when he does get the ball, the excitement levels in the stands rise and usually a goal results. Very worthy of nomination and by season's end, a lot of football fans, and not necessarily Bulldog fans, will be...

    Higgins = Star

I liked him the first moment I saw him - his ball handling is as clean as anyone - has got a lot of polish in his play - a superstar in the making.

Bring in Tom Williams against the Tiges Petition

I liked what I saw today of Williams, very athletic, agile and potentially will be a good player, but not quite yet. He still needs time at Werribee - perhaps in the second half of the season will see his footy smarts developed that bit more to play AFL standard.
  30. W

    Drop Ray and Guido!!

From what I saw of Faulkner today at Werribee, he must play next week.
