Silkiest player we have had since Wells*.
He made that dribble goal he kicked this year look so easy - I was thinking he would miss it because that is what I have come to expect as a North supporter
* Ignoring Thomas, but if Duursma improves his athleticism will hopefully more than match him.
Other teams play their young KPPs from their first year - thinking the Kings for example. I am not sure why we shouldn’t be given him games in 2025 if he is seen as capable.
The thing about anti-vaccine athletes is that they tend to look after themselves, so hopefully Darling can play 2-3 good years with us.
PS. Get vaccinated.
A shout out to the captain.
We were a bit nervous and fumbly at the start, but Kearney settled us when she side-stepped a Brisbane player and delivered a pinpoint pass - basically told the team through her actions that they should be confident about getting it done.
I wish they would just say the truth, which is my manager is waiting to get all the offers in and I will make a decision then.
However, one thing I would say is that they are taking a big risk by leaving it to the last year in the expectation that they won’t suffer a serious injury (touch wood).
They are one club, but the focus should be on this team.
BYW, I was watching them play on Saturday, and thinking they play like a Denis Pagan team - Crocker obviously picked up few things along the way.
I wouldn’t do this. Saturday is about our AFLW team, and not the AFLM team.
We wouldn’t do the reverse if it was our AFLM team playing in a GF (hopefully in my lifetime!).
This is so true.
When you’re the man and the team is set-up to give you space to get free it is your responsibility to deliver it to someone who can have a shot or to kick it yourself.
Too many I50s go to waste in this team, and LDU is a material contributor to that problem.
Crosswell was also a great football writer - here is one I found about Barassi: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/from-the-archives-1989-even-in-chess-a-man-was-but-a-pawn-to-ron-barassi-20230918-p5e5q4.html.
