Better off having a swing and missing than not having a swing at all. Improved slightly in my eyes but one of these big names could be the difference between finishing 5-6 as opposed to top 4. Will still be in finals next year I imagine. Nailing a first round pick would help as well
That's what I mean, short term will be frustrating. Not sure all fans will be happy with a long rebuild even though it is the right thing to do in this situation.
WINNERS
Essendon- Turned Carlisle & Melksham into 5 and 25.
Joel Selwood & Scott Pendlebury- Needed help, have it now.
GWS- Have 3 1st round draft picks in next year’s draft as well as gaining academy picks. Lost Treloar but should be able to cover. Kept McCarthy & Tomlinson.
Stephen Wells-...
Similar to the MLB International signing rules. In that each team gets a $ amount that they spend or trade.

I think it would be worth trying to get a deal done with Sydney. 2 picks in the 20s is worth more to them than their 1st rounder given Mills will likely be a top 5 pick. IMO Pick 14 is more useful for us than a couple of picks in the 20s, in getting Aish whether that be through trade or the ND...
Collingwood for better or worse have played their post premiership rebuild (2012 trade period I'm particular) almost like someone playing a sports video game. They have traded out mid level players flipped them for draft picks and used free agency to replace them without giving anything away...
Should be a good pick up. He was on the Hawks list for a moment. When the Hawks drafted their Matt Suckling they read out the wrong player ID and drafted this Mat Suckling before correcting it a few minutes later.

I was at the game and thought Paine was disappointing. Had 10cms on his opponent and was well beaten. Witts looked good in the ruck but is really slow. It might be an issue if he is playing as that forward/ruck that defenders can run off him at will.
I liked Broomheads game. Looks good when he...
I took this the other way. If he was worried about being delisted he would be doing everything possible to get back on the field and be trying to put off any surgery. Blokes have played through shoulder injuries in the past so this could be that he has done more damage or maybe the club told him...
Geelong putting on a masterclass on how to beat the hawks.
Move the ball quickly, make there defenders defend, tackle fanatically and dont let them get short kicks up the line.
Re: hamish mclachlan and wikipedia - a must read for every footy fan - now going nuts on the interwe

Im sure with everyone that has been on this thread we could pass the...
It may have been just where I was sitting but I thought the chant started before the 2010 prelim. I remember hearing it as Geelong played their pump up video as they were running out. It would had to have been intimidating hearing it as your running out on the ground.
Yes Hawkk, Geelong and Collingwood only drew two thousand more than Geelong and Hawthorn but that was on a night with no parking at the ground on a five degree raining night as opposed to Geelong-Hawthorn on a warm public holiday.
And Essendon and Collingwood drew 59.5 thousand last year...
Geelong vs Hawthorn, the great modern rivals, only managed 78 thousand on easter tuesday this year despite both being top three teams, compare that to Collingwood vs Melbourne on Monday who drew 76 thousand despite one side being up the top and one being a mid to bottom level team, in a rivalry...
Agree mainly with the above team but my only issue is that I dont see Scarlett as a full back. Historically every one regards him as a full back but, the last year or 2 he has become a defender who never plays on the oppositions first or second best forward. On the weekend he spent most of his...
