Retired #18: Michael Hurley 🐻 - Staying on in a coaching and player welfare role! - 3/10

Could we be seeing a sneaky mature aged forward taken by Disco?

Retired #18: Michael Hurley 🐻 - Staying on in a coaching and player welfare role! - 3/10

Bomber on record saying Hurley's a "natural defender, but the decision is not only up to him" (latest press conference). Inference being Hurley is going to be played up forward because of a dearth of options but we could see him move back once we fill the void.

Latest pressy, Bomber implied we'd pass on Gartlett and said outright we'd take a Ruckman

Free Agent # 6: Joe Daniher (part 1)

Just throwing it out there as a hypothetical.. Chuck Pears forward and swing Hurley back (post Fletcher era)? In that case we get the Hurlisle backline, and I'd guess Pears can be like a fill in forward role - he has the burst of speed to burn on the lead

    Delisted #36: Lauchlan Dalgleish

This should settle it: Noteworthy is that Wilkinson was beaten, because he holds the 20m sprint record

    New Numbers?

On the road to being arguably the sport's greatest player? Yeah that'll do just fine.

    New Numbers?

Look if either become LBJ-esque I'll survive

    New Numbers?

Wouldn't be surprised if BJ takes #6 - he's a Lebron fan, so let's hope he makes a similar impact as LBJ did for South Beach

    2012 Draft - Selections: 10 (Daniher), 34, 51, 53, 73, 88, 101, 106 (Baguley)

I was under the impression Broomhead was our preference at 34, but obviously having been taken much earlier we took Ashby instead

    2012 Draft - Selections: 10 (Daniher), 34, 51, 53, 73, 88, 101, 106 (Baguley)

Know him personally, seems pretty dedicated to his footy

Or 10.. because it'll be next to Licka, scrap that ^ I'll go with 10, him and Licka go way back

FWIW I'm tipping BJ to don the number 6 (next to his good mate Stants in the locker rooms)

Just think of the influence the most recent big fish have made on their new teams: Ablett (granted he carries a team of kids) and Judd (needs strapping on his shoulders because their permanently sore from carrying Carlton). Goddard to accelerate the improvement of our young with the leadership...

    2012 Draft - Selections: 10 (Daniher), 34, 51, 53, 73, 88, 101, 106 (Baguley)

Ant - thoughts on Sam Hudson? Was pretty highly rated at the start of the year (was in line to skipper the Chargers) but broke his leg pretty badly which ruled him out of the season. From what I've heard has a decent inside/outside game which we could pick up very late/rookie considering how...

Mega Thread 2012 List Management: Part II

For what it's worth, I talked (personally) to our fitness and development coaches (you know that guy from the BomberTV Altitude training interview) cause they were just in at the gym at the same time as me and I had a cheeky word to them about who we're looking at over trade/draft. Said no to...

    Trade/Free Agency/Draft Rumours and Innuendos

well if we go from getting anything in a trade to nothing in compo from FA then that's fair to say a 'substantial dilution' haha but the only reason I can think of Port taking Gus under FA is if they don't want to lose any players (rather than draft picks) but seeing as Jacobs nominated to leave...

    Trade/Free Agency/Draft Rumours and Innuendos

Rumours again.. but apparently Monfries has signed under FA, ala we won't get a trade for it. Gonna be quite disappointed if we lose Monfries to FA rather than through trade... just feel like our compensation will be substantially diluted if it were the case, so I hope that rumour's wrong.

I'm weary of Collingwood with the acquisition of Lynch.. Cloke and Lynch pose a potent fowardline, but hey, it's nothing Hurley can't handle at CHB!

    Trade/Free Agency/Draft Rumours and Innuendos

So many threads not sure which one to post it in (but this seems the most on topic in regards to FA activity) - Moloney apparently offered 4 years (FB source) by Brisbane.. if so a little disappointed.

Yeah and when they asked Rooey whether he knew he gave a very unconvincing "I don't know... I talk with BJ pretty regularly, but as time goes on I'm unsure". Translating the diplomacy of media speak.. WE GOT OUR MAN!
