Up next is the DOB Trophy recognizing the best Defensive Old Boy of the Season.

Midfielders and forwards rack up huge disposals and get plenty of recognition, but without a solid defensive the team will not succeed. The DOB trophy is recognition of those unsung heroes who defend the opposition qoal attacks and is awarded to the defensive line player who applied the most pressure, killed off most of their opponent’s attacks, and was able to best nullify opposition threats.

The next award is the Chancellor Cup awarded by the Spotswood Campus Chancellor, and is presented to the Old Boy who has provided extensive contributions both on and off the field throughout the season and upheld the Old Boys stringent values. This cup is given only to those servants of the club who have elevated themselves above just a supporting role, someone who is instrumental in working behind the scenes to make this club the powerhouse it is, someone who has achieved Old Boy excellence and an example to the Spotswood Campus members.

Braks is always willing to give a hand and is an example of what a great club man is all about. Well done Braklet on being awarded this season’s recipient of the Chancellors Cup.

This just goes to show how good we Old Boys are... There's ONLY 2 points between 5 players = that is AWESOME!

The next award, and I think the next best to the BOOB is the FOP for ‘Favorite Ophidian Player’. This is the players player award and was voted on by the players in the team. Each player could vote for who they enjoyed playing beside this season and valued most as a team mate. This is a great award as it recognises the value of a player as a team mate from your peers within the team. A pleasing thing was the votes were spread across a number of players showing how well we all get on across the team.

It was good to see so many players being nominated for this honour but the one player who consistently rated in peoples votes and has been awarded the S38 Favorite Ophidian Player’ is our Vice Captain Robertio

Rob does a great job connecting people and keeping a thread rolling and can always be relied upon to back up a fellow team mate if the opposition start getting a bit cheeky. In the back ground Rob ensures people know what’s going on so it’s no surprise he has been nominated by his fellow team mates as their Favorite Ophidian Player for S38.
