So who's knocking the door down to force him out?

Have we got a small forward averaging 10-15 possessions, 6-8 tackles, 2-4 score assists and 1-2 goals in the Magoo's?

I understand these numbers are slightly higher than Jack's, but it's what I'd expect from a challenger.
After watching the Ressies today, I'll answer my own question here....

Paul Curtis is showing enough of what we need. Not sure if it's Jack who needs to go out, but Paul needs to get a look in at a debut soon.

Dear Jack,

Please spend some time in the VFL. When you kick 3+ goals in a game I shall reconsider you.

PS. Can someone tell me what our recruiters saw that I can't.

Short, average speed, <45metres kick.

Unfortunately for Jack he needs to become a victim if this team is to go anywhere. The Atley and JMac days should be behind us. Mahony has no elite athletic talent and no elite footballing talent and we don’t have a role for him in our team. Take Turner with ya as well.

Didn’t have a good game (nor did the team nor most of the players). A reflection of the team not able to control possession for large chunks of the match.
Surprised he was swung into permanent defence role late, as he has never trained as a defender in 3 years. Hence the split hesitation with JHF that resulted in a turnover and goal

That was his worst game for the club IMO. Only young though. I think his injury opens the door for Curtis to have a run. He has played lots of senior footy so early in his career, a few games in the magoos might do wonders for his confidence and his touch. And for a little fella his touch needs to be supreme. Couple games in the scoobs IMO

well said; he's been solid playing his role, but yesterday was poor. Once he recovers, it will be interesting to see where they play him on the way back - if precedent is any guide, he might get a run on ball in the VFL. When Noble dropped Bailey last year, he was played in the centre square in the VFL (and was BOG along with Xerri in a side that lost by a hundred at Box Hill), as was Stephenson this year. The message for running players put out of the ones seems to be go and get some ball, so Mahony might be asked to do the same

It's not punishing him for yesterday either - there is merit in sending him back to get his hands on it so that if and when he comes back he can have a bigger impact.

Safe to say he’s now out of form.
I need to stop backing blokes in to perform.
Watching him run after Caleb Daniel all day in vain and just have zero impact was painful.

Absolutely. We will not improve by getting players into the team that are unequivocally fringe players and then never questioning that place in the team. I personally think Curtis will come in and struggle to lose his spot - that will throw down the gauntlet to Mahoney, Turner and a few other players. Which is good for the team.

I'd love to see mahony either play on ball and get himself 30 at high % disposal or do exactly what Curtis has done, which has been get some clinical finishes around goal
