Re: Jesse Smith Asks For Trade

JWS 27 games 3 goals since 2005 might as well be playing for the gornong thirds (no offence to the gornong thirds) zero value to our club ,yet we all love him . Then we have a player that debuts in 2007 has kicked 63 goals and played 54 matches and most dislike him and think hes a dud and should be offerd up for trade mmmmmm frigin amazing

Re: If JWS leaves...

Sorry, I was being facetious in response to so many duplicative JWS threads.

Good post blackshadow, agree with everything you say.

Thanks - you're irony obviously didn't make it through cyberspace.

Bring on 2010!

Re: Jesse Smith Asks For Trade

As some of you know, I've had a rough week, but one that has put things in perspective.

I am genuinely so proud that my club, the North Melbourbne Football Club, from the highest executive level, to the coach himself, took time at what must be one of their busiest times of the year, to mark the passing of a guy who was a passionate member, but essentially, just a rank and file North supporter like the rest of us.

Compare and constrast with some other mobs who charge kiddies $20 for a pic with a player or kick them out of their cheersquad.

That is what is great about our club.

If Jesse doesn't want to be a part of it, for whatever reason, then off he goes.

Brad Scott used the word 'class' a lot in his B+F speech.

IMO, Jesse isn't necessarily showing a lot of class in how he's going about this, and Gibson certainly didn't.

But that doesn't mean we as supporters have to chuck it out the window.

We look forward now, not back. If Jesse and Josh don't want to be a part of what we're doing, then there's the door guys, let's get some deals done and best of luck with whatever you do.

Just know that when you come up against the North Melbourne Football Club, you'll be getting the game of your life.

Let's do what Brad Scott would like in the playing group and show a bit of class here.

All this wishing injury on Jesse, threatneing to shite on his lawn etc, its hardly classy now is it?

When Jesse played it was exciting when he got the ball in his hands. Does that help?

I like Thomas personally, but it's apples and oranges.

Classy post :thumbsu:

Re: Jesse Smith Asks For Trade

so what do you think we will get for him?

It hurts to think that we have invested 4 years of injury time into him. Then expecting him to make it back and still play 150 games for the blue and white. Then it all just gets thrown away fro pick 167, because he has a history thats littered with injuries.

Pretty shattered.

Well said SLF!

Re: Jesse Smith Asks For Trade

SLF has summed up my thoughts. Am fairly shattered though :(

Re: Jesse Smith Asks For Trade

I don't hate the guy for leaving, and as much as it isn't surprising, I'm still extremely disappointed about it. I think it's just the realisation that we'll never see JWS become that player that we all wanted him to be, at least in North Melbourne colours, and it's gut wrenching for me to consider him become that player in a Geelong guernsey considering most people I know support the Cats and they'd gloat in my face about it.

This certainly hurts a lot more than when Motlop left, and seeing him do well for Port will have nothing on seeing Smith do well for another club.

But having said that, I hope for his sake that he can make something out of it, because it would be such a waste of talent and it wouldn't be just a waste for us Roos supporters to not see him get on the field, but for AFL supporters in general.
