Hahaha where was he playing for centrals? Pretty sure he is a fairly light forward can't see him tearing it up in the mid like bonts did on Friday good player but probably suited to the wing maybe a Michael long type but has a long way to go to get to that status

He was 18 at Centrals. Of course he played differently at league level then due to his size. He played as a mid at state championship level. Dont you get that players get bigger and change in roles as they get older? You obviously havent seen him much lately if you think he's a twig. He's packed on the muscle compared to then and is filling out nicely and will easily have midfield ability. He plays nothing like Michael Long who was a more skinny wingman and far more like Shaun Burgoyne who is elite as a mid. Thats his ceiling. He might not reach those heights but that's who he plays like.

I thought he was ok again last night, but I really hope Hampton/Seedsman take his spot next season.

How many missed tackles?

He has this skill of making it look like that he is going in hard at a tackle when it's really a half ass effort that results in a missed tackle

He has filled out? that is really good news for someone who is in another state so can't really watch the SANFL.

He looked like a strong breeze would knock him over previously.

He's noticably bigger than the preseason games. Still a way to go but he definitely has the frame to pull off a Burgoyne type body as opposed to the rangy wingman type.

If he can get Burgyone body that'd be a huge win... he's never going to get bulky but Burgoyne can hold his own.

Ok? Up until the last qtr he had 13 possessions until he had a late run that padded his stats.

Turned the ball over and once again failed to kick a goal when had the chance. He was shit.

Rubbish ....you and most other simply said he's a liability ......why the f...k don't you stick to your season long conviction & stop being a hypocrite .....fact is you haven't a clue re players performances / roles / team stuctures .......so stop pretending
That's your opinion .....the selectors clearly have stated you're wrong in that assessment!

Or are you going to tarnish your reputation as well ....by saying that the selectors have no idea and are trying to lose by playing Mackay

Put simply ....at what point do you admit you're clearly wrong
Ahhh the ol deflection technique ......some posters simply can't handle being exposed for their ignorance, can they ;) .....brings out the dark side of people
Lets talk reality shall we? ......Mackay played every available game bar 1 .......week off, all list players fit and available ......so the comment "he's lucky to be in the team" is just a plain rubbish statement

Fact is ..he wasn't dropped & if his form had been as you have posted weekly, he would have been dropped ....so clearly your opinion was influenced by other posters or you just can't accurately judge player performances
Didn't you watch the season?
Some of your finest work here Wayne and based in his voting last night it appears you've over valued his season and the selectors opinion of him. It's clear he wasn't performing his role as well as you thought.

It's also pretty clear the only thing that has kept him in the teams this year have been the injuries to Seedsman, Knight and Hampton.

We have to trade out this underachieving spud.

It is the only sensible thing to do…can we please finally move on from the era of underachieving and finals chokes before it completely infects the next generation.

Come on, that's unfair. He has a dip, he's just so bloody light he gets knocked off the ball easily and stopped dead when tackled.

Yeah I guess so. He just doesn't have the body for AFL, which makes you wonder why the **** he has played the amount of games he has. #Elitestandards

I retract my pea heart comment, that can be added to Jenkins. However he is still piss weak.

Look on the brightside though.

There are only two years to go

Come on he'll only be 30. With 200+ games of experience we'd be mad to let him go.

Will probably also have a training activity named after him, like the Simon Goodwin Run. It won't be quantifiable in any way and only Scott Camporeale can tell whether you're elite at it

Where have you been, my love?

The David Mackay Non Statistical Role.

Legend has it that he once absolutely dominated a game for Trinity Grammar (might have been an inter-house game).

The sad thing is that 2016 will go down as one of David's best seasons. He has played his role most matches but it's the opportunity cost that is so frustrating. Even his greatest supporters could not envisage him ripping a game apart like Charlie did in the third quarter against Sydney.

The number of games played by Thommo, Mackay and Douglas next year will be a barometer of our future success.

Going by his B&F voting, I don't think the club saw that he played his role well.

He was saved my injuries to players competing for his spot.
