I think his efforts are good - he runs really hard to make position unlike most in our team. It's just that he is in actuality a terrible kick of the ball.

Who?

yeah great idea... change the game plan cause turnover king can't hit a target...:confused::D

Nup. Disagree with you on Rossy.

I wasn't convinced at first, but now I can see the huge upside in him. When Rossy gets the ball, his instincts seem to just tell him to run with it. Straight forward.

However, he seems to be the only one, save for maybe Swallow, who did the same.

You're wrong.

You put him on a team that runs and carries and he will be a player. He needs open space to run into.

With us, he gets the ball from a 15m kick and cant go anywhere, so when he does take people on there is a full zone staring him in the face.

And he's like Shannon Watt. He's slow over the first 5 metres but can really motor over the 10m-40m mark. We have to get him the ball while he's already moving and this just doesnt happen with our current game plan

I think we have to remember that Urqhardt is a second year player with 25 games under his belt. We need to cut him a little slack.

He is certainly struggling but this can happen to younger players.

Agreed, but FWIW, he is a third year player.

Why not, we change it every other week, although some parts remain no matter what *holds ball in the air*.

I still think Laidleys should have stuck with kicking the ball around the boundary line and getting our players to punch it out of bounds.

But who cares, we'll have a new coach in about a month..:confused::D

Denny Crane

Are you kidding? He's efforts are good?

Have you been watching how he doesn't even put he's body on the line when he has to?

He has talent, I'm not disputing that but he is struggling like shit atm.

If Daniel McConnell is still playing footy we should re-draft him. He would thrive under a new coach too once he has been de-Laidley-ised.

Is this a serious comment?

But in respect to Gavin he is just going through a bad patch every player has/does he will be good and I think having a new coach could enable him to reach his potential.

Re: I'm sorry but Urquart is not a good kick

Does Gav possess the most overrated kick our club has ever seen?

No. He's a good player and a good kick in ordinary form. A few things in his game that I am a little concerned about, but his kicking isn't one of them. Not even close.

Re: I'm sorry but Urquart is not a good kick

Funkyzeit got in early.

How many running in to the open goal kicks did he squib today?

2?

The second one didnt even score.

It wasnt a matter of decision making and game plan. It was not being able to execute a kick he should be nailing.

Now Giansirucusa and Eagleton may be skunks who wouldnt put their head over the ball or go in for a contest to save themselves, but they'd never squib 2 of those kicks.

Re: I'm sorry but Urquart is not a good kick

Thought he was ok today.

Provided good run and bounce at stages.

If he kicked that goal I would have unleashed a thick 7 roper in my jocks.

Keep playing him.

Re: I'm sorry but Urquart is not a good kick

The first was bullshit because he had two blokes standing by themselves. Reall y disappointed in that effort. The second was a poor hit, for sure. It happens.

He is a very good kick.
