the point would be that frequent and effective ball use facilitates scoring which wins games...to wit Ziebell and Warren against Essendon and the midfield of most premiership teams.

So when Anthony and JWS are fit 2 of the 3 players I mentioned should be shitting bricks?

no. Anthony would be competing with Power, Urqhart and HArding I expect.

JWS won't be fit any time soon and will play off half back if he ever is

Rawlings should not be dropped if he remains a tagger.

Swallow could be interchanged with Harris or Adams if doesn't deliver

subject to how the year is progressing, Simpson i think may actually pull the pin himself once he gets to 300. a tough call but would befit his strength of character. or at least he may start to take a lesser role with less game time. he's going to have to miss one game or his 300th is in Adelaide against Adelaide. rd13 against the bulldogs at the MCG far more appropriate

Yeah, this case is one for Scully & Moulder. And to be honest, it would be very interesting to know what Scully & Moulder thought of Laidley's time as NMFC Coach.

His AFL form wasn't great last year, so you'd think Dean is just making 100% sure he is ready to have another crack at it. The biggest mistake you can make with young players these days is playing them too early.

Depends on what you class as too early. I thought he showed enough in his brief appearance last year to suggest he can play. I'm glad he brought Greenwood in but I'd have thought given the circumstances if ever there was an opportunity to bring Ross in, this was it.

Big issue with the kids is their physical ability to go the whole distance on a season. I seems to me Laidley manages the kids to cater for this by holding some of the back till later in the season, which annoys the hell out of many posters here, but it makes sense in terms of physical conditioning if you think about it. I reckon we'll see Ross with more game time in the second half of the season, and that he knows that's what the deal is. Laidley loves having a couple of tricks up his sleeve.

This will have to be managed very well this year for us to be a decent chance. All those interstate games later on will require some planning.
On the OP I assume Ross is still sore.

I think Ross's time will come. The guy in jeopardy is Lower...its his position that will become vacant for Ross.

The other guy worth considering is Adams....balancing act at the minute....what happens if JWS, Tarrant, Grima all come good??

I am a member of Werribee and go to all home games and some away aswell, Ross should definately be in the side. He has been just outstanding at Werribee don't just look at stats it is the quality of what he does that impresses me.

nah mate i reckon ben ross needs a few more years at werribee

With Thomas and Campbell dominating up forward and Wells, Harvey and Power tearing up the midfield there is simply no room in the side for The Boss currently.

He needs to get those photos that a certain Mr L Brown used to maintain his place in the team for so long.
Mr Brown no longer needs them, but upon reflection may have passed them onto Mr S Power, as this surely is the only way any sane coach would keep him in the team.

He should fill out the attached:

http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/CA256902000FE154/Lookup/BDMApplication_Forms/$file/ChangeOfName.pdf

At question 5, he should insert the following: "Power, Samuel Dean Leigh". Pay the application fee of $58.80 and, hey presto, senior football for life.

Nah u guys have no idea. WTF were u smoking back then?

I don't know who u guys were watching but Ben Ross is rubbish.

Exactly __aria__. Dean Laidleys knows his shit and that's why Ben Ross can't get a game at the minute. The problem with Ross is that he has attitude concerns and that means he doesn't know how to kick a ball and that.

Yea I know what u mean Z. Imagine if we had Buddy F on the list he would be a very good player for Nth Ballarat.

I heard Boomer say on the radio that they are trying to make The Boss more defensive.

Hopefully if he works on that a bit more he can get a game. I think he would make a good tagger.
