Everyone knows our drafting has been subpar. I'm kind of over hearing about it every day, especially when it's a carefully curated extra s**t version of what actually happened. I swear we've got some serious misery addicts around here

I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my membership after this season. I haven't seen a live NM game in 12 years and buy a full family membership every year.

Mate, I think we all completely understand the sentiment. Our footy team has been diabolical for far too long and the light we thought was at the end of the tunnel does not appear to be getting any closer. And on top of that, it does grate that we don't appear to be getting value for our membership money.

I don't agree that they don't play with intent and heart, though. It's just not coming together for them.

If you can, stay in for the long haul - the success that comes (and it will) will taste even sweeter. (Well, that's what I keep telling myself).

Wardlaw has been pretty impressive. Pretty much the only bloke you could confidently say he wears his heart on his sleeve.

I've barracked for the club for 44 years and been a member for the best part of 25 years.

I obviously don't care about value, having lived interstate for 16 years and only gone to a few games in that time, but something has to give...

The wife is from Europe and used to love watching the footy with me - hasn't watched a game in about 3-4 years now. Kids want nothing to do with them.

Go target these players fair enough, but its the contract length term that f***s us up. We are holding onto these blokes and burning cap space, yet I hear were going to target the next May or Lever in the next few years.
May and Lever didn't come cheap. And were wasting coin on C graders.

Says it all really about how we are perceived in industry circles that managers and players only agree to come here knowing they are guaranteed a mega deal.
This is disastrous.
We can't simply build from the draft only and expect to rise up the ladder. Which is why I see Brady's role as officially untenable. He has to go.

I still remember getting smashed on here back in 2020 for suggesting that our mid-first draft approach rather than a balanced draft build would leave us dependent on trades/free agents who we'd inevitably have to over pay for. Chickens are coming home to roost now.
