If he plays next week burn the joint down.

He is a pathetic embarrassment of a footballer and should be the call that puts the nail in Brady’s coffin.

All we have done with those priority picks is clog the list. Hardly what I would call assistance. We would be better off without them and not have both Stephens and Fisher.

I thought Fisher offered something early in the season but is now spudding it up big time.

Loved his preseason, but swans don't let good players go....I now know why. OUT....I'd rate Stephenson and Curtis Taylor as better options for his role. One or both of them plus Phillips in next week please.

Can see why Clarko is persisting with him and Scott has been sent to half back.

His kicking is so much better and he very rarely turns the ball over. It stands out so much.

He's 100% playing to coaching instructions to maintain width. Got on a few scoring opportunity chains that ended up with a mark inside 50. Should be used up when kicking inside 50 more often.

Is the coaching instruction to shit his pants at the thought of contact.

He’s probably close to the biggest cat I have seen in our jumper and we’ve had some.

Agree with this. He could be a weapon when the rest of the team utilise him the right way. Do we prefer him or Jy kicking inside 50?

He’s not there to win contested possession. A classic receiver, as it were.

He’s soft. He can kick. Who in the twos can run for four quarters like he does? Not excusing, just where we at.
Stephens is a work in progress for us at the moment. I can see where it will all come together eventually and we'll see why Clarko persisted.

Our lack of creativity behind the ball is hurting Stephens as much as it's hurting our forward line. It's all about pumping games into a group so inexperienced that not even the senior players can keep things under wraps.

This is basically what happens when even more experience goes out the door and we build up the chemistry with new faces. It'll turn. It has to.

Well we may as well just rock up to the national U18 athletics carnival and draft the winner of the 1500m then. Not too different to what the cats did with Blicavs.

It's rare these days to see a player so consistently and genuinely frightened on an AFL ground. He is truly a liability.

Picking him next week doesn't help the team or the player. He can't be enjoying letting his teammates down so often.
I actually feel sorry for him a bit. He's so far off it.

Easier to have lower turnovers when he doesn’t get the ball that much!

I mean, it’s not as if a lot of us called this when we were first linked to him.

Every advanced stat metric had him as one of the worst players in the league for the amount of game time he had at the Swans.

Nothing since has changed my mind, the likes of Hartung and Young offered as much as this chancer.

It stands to reason when you join one of the worst sides of the last 2 decades that formline wont improve.

This reeks of one of Rawlings or Clayton going after someone they rated in the u18s despite all the evidence in the world he was a bust at AFL level.

How in the **** could they come to this deal after scouting him for the year when most of us could plainly see it ourselves in September last year?

I’m not even joking when I say this contract may cost Brady his job.

Maintaining width???, he may as-well be playing in row E

I don't want to just be a hive of negativity and nitpicking but I want to call this out for what it is: gambler's fallacy. There is absolutely no reason our luck has to turn around of it's own accord. We need people actively shaping and changing our odds of turning it around.

And yes, I am disappointed in Stephens like everyone else. Since I'm in his thread. But I do want to note that like all of our players (notably Ben McKay has looked pretty good this year), he looks worse when he plays for us, because we don't kick it to him properly, shepherd him properly, or really do much properly for him in general. I'd want to see what he looks like in a functional team that actually plays like a team before I give up on him entirely - the question is whether we get to that point.

I'm not indifferent to these factors generally, and of course they play a part.

But this bloke is literally jumping out of the way and earns a shitload of money from this club and will earn a shitload more. You'd expect about 2 million over the course of his laughable contract.

My expectation is a minimum standard of effort. Not Keith Greig. Not Wayne Schwass. I want SAM ****ING GIBSON effort.
And I cannot believe I wrote that, but we have reached the pining for Sam Gibson era.

****s sake!!!
