I just checked out our tackle ratios over the past seven weeks. From what I can gather, the major improvement for us has been in the tackles inside F50. At times in the past, overall tackle counts have been competitive but not in F50. Major example was in the St Kilda game. We won the overall tackle count by 69-64. However, we lost the tackles inside F50 by 0-15! That’s pretty staggering. Obviously, there’s other stuff at play here as well. However, those numbers are stark. Against Collingwood, we were one ahead on the overall tackle count but won the F50 tackle count 15-10. Strangely, the one percenter stat seems to be all over the place. We’ve won that stat in games we’ve been flogged in. However, we’ve been soundly beaten in that area against WC and, moreso, Collingwood. Weird. We have put relentless pressure & the tackle count has been off the charts the last 2 weeks which isn’t his forte.
So yes , interesting game for Stephens .
Yeah, he’d need to be seriously out-performing in other areas to mask that. Ultimately, that’s what has consigned Sleevo to the VFL again. Just seeing Sheezel put himself in harms way like he did on Sunday should be a wake-up call to a few players (Dylan, for one). But if the situation in the game occurs & believe me it will occur where Dylan needs to go … he will need to go. He’s scaredness of the contest & physical contact avoidance with the opposition was glaring obvious previously.

Sounds reasonable.Maybe getting more of the footy explains the dip in one percenter count?
I'd be curious to know if f50 opp intercept marks have gone down and our f50 tackles have gone up since pink has been played forward.I just checked out our tackle ratios over the past seven weeks. This is a very acute point, to which I would add it is a consequence of having a proper KPF structure. This is stopping/limiting opposition intercept marks, as our new talls are bringing the ball to ground, instead of it slingshotting out of F50, and then they are adding their own tackle pressure in the contest.I just checked out our tackle ratios over the past seven weeks. Desired skillset, at his best is a weapon for us, was given a kick up the backside relegated to the 2's, and had a good game last week.l am still trying to work out why Stevens was picked when there were others who l felt would have been a better option. No doubt the club picked him for a purpose so l will accept their decision.
Yeah, it would be interesting. Last night, I re-watched the last 3 minutes of the Collingwood game. Pink really did some pack busting mark attempts that ensured we got the opportunities at the end.I'd be curious to know if f50 opp intercept marks have gone down and our f50 tackles have gone up since pink has been played forward.
100% agree. This is a very acute point, to which I would add it is a consequence of having a proper KPF structure. Take Pink vs Collingwood.
For Paul Curtis' second goal, Pink identifies the drop of the ball position, and is strong enough to hold it even among a host of Collingwood opponents. He's then tall enough to get first hands to it, and although he doesn't mark, it's his hands that bring the ball to ground, where Curtis expertly sharks and goals.
Same with tackle pressure - Pink had 3 Ti50 against Collingwood, equal best with Zurhaar (and it's no surprise Zurhaar's tackle stats is better with more ground ball to contest).
Exactly. That should be our no negotiated expectation.Yeah, he’d need to be seriously out-performing in other areas to mask that. Ultimately, that’s what has consigned Sleevo to the VFL again. It's usually the case when we're always defending and concerned about our opponents.Strangely, the one percenter stat seems to be all over the place. We’ve won that stat in games we’ve been flogged in. However, we’ve been soundly beaten in that area against WC and, moreso, Collingwood. Weird.
That is very generous of youl am still trying to work out why Stevens was picked when there were others who l felt would have been a better option. No doubt the club picked him for a purpose so l will accept their decision.
Gonna upgrade our replacement game tickets, where is the North crowd situated?
