What? I don't see that. He's not someone who dives on it, but that doesn't help these days. He has a big body and also has great evasion. He will make a fantastic midfielder. I hope he gets some midfield minutes in VFL this week, Crow said that there is no limitation on his game now.

Unlike Langford, he has some acceleration and can take a big mark. So he will be more potent up forward. I think this explosive power will make him more effective at a stoppage down the track too, but the forward play means that we can play him in seniors more before he's ready to be a starting mid.

While I keep banging on about Dusty in the trade thread I think a full preseason and injury free 2018 to Laverde, Langford and Francis will improve us as much as any trade would.

yaco's comment gives me hope as I don't think his concern about the ability of a player 'below his knees' has ever been realised.

In all seriousness I could live with another weeks in the twos.

Some off the ball efforts were a bit lacking because he was gassed.

I'm super paranoid about bringing him back too soon and something getting strained under the additional intensity (and I'm not referring to myself).

I know what you mean. I also believe in bringing people in when they have a hot hand, much like cricket selection.

Not just the goalkicking but he's so strong over the ball. He has a future as a midfielder I reckon.

Gun

Strong over the ball, quick first few steps and has a side step. Will be a gun midfielder who can kick goals. I still want him to start as a forward in the AFL who plays some midfield minutes, then slowly tip that percentage to a mid who can rest forward. Langford doesn't have that explosive burst so he wont be as effective up forward, but could easily play as a wingman.
