I believe Sam Wright is good on both sides of his body by either hand or foot. And that is a rarity in todays game.

Being a triple-dan green belt in fujitsu, it was always impressed upon me that you must be skilled on both sides of the body to the stage that you are ambiguous. If you don't know which leg you are going to attack with next, how is your opponent supposed to know? And this applies to Sammy Wright. Don't be surprised if Sammy is right up there at the business end of the season, where eagles fear to tread.

On a totally unrelated topic, how good is his swagger and 'come at me' demeanour been this year?

Something we've really missed for god knows how long.

Sam takes no shite, got a feeling that if the timing was right (a grand final), Sam would not hold back...;)

he has improved out of sight, and getting over his early injuries definitely helped. I thought I made the mistake of getting the #19 jumper when young jack had it, only to see wright take over when simpson handed over his. But I'm stoked that wright has turned out to be a quality player with loads of potential!

i think he missed last week because of tightness in his leg/hammy and he was also ill.
Probably should have not played today but we needed our best 22 out there

Our INs were all out of sorts (Wells, Grima and Wright). But we had to roll the dice, they've been best 22 all year.

He was rubbish and his lack of pace is found wanting when we are under pressure.

That's a bit harsh. He got caught out a few times. Our Mids didn't pick up their men. It was a free for all into our forward line.

Does anybody think Wright can play a role for us in the midfield at some stage in his career, or is he destined to be a Mr Fix It man either in the backline or up forward? Think, if he bulked up a bit, his class, poise and balance could be quite handy in the congestion, not to mention spotting up the likes of Taz, Lachie and Curran on the lead.

Classic photo when he first got here. He looks so much different now.

He's my tip to be a big improver this year. Very excited about what he might become.

Possibly. He's dominated VFL games playing on the wing.
